Meh, I might like them more if they had a brass section.

I saw these guys open for Dropkick Murphys about 15 years ago... Their performance changed me and helped make me the person I am today. You need memories like that to hang onto when shit gets real dark and you wanna give up... I'll never forget that show and the fire it lit inside of me.

@mikechevalier40234 жыл бұрын
Their style of music is most accurately described as "skinhead reggae" but said term is seldom used in the modern context due to the popular racial context skinheads have in popular culture. If you know your proper history though the term "skinhead reggae" predates skinheads as nazis and was originally working class British youth who were into this new sound coming over from Jamaica via a massive immigration wave into the UK. Originally they had a lot of love for these new folks in their country and the boot stomping (see: "Skinhead Moon Stomp") was a beautiful hybrid of reggae and this working class scene. (see British history of the "National Front" for their downfall) The UK skinhead scene would eventually be corrupted by a thinly veiled British Nazi party called the National Front. British punk rock generally united against them along with a lot of other rock bands but the skinhead name was permanently damaged which I think is a massive shame. Some of my favorite reggae or punk is done by non racist skinheads pushing this sound.

I had to turn this shit off at the call and response section. It sounds like an attempt at a "hey hey by michael franti" mainstreamish hit I hate that fuckin song to. Aggroliyes shares are down and my dirty reggae shirt is depreciating.
