Metallic Purple OG I's are my grails. OGs shapes will always be the best. Only thing I wish they can address in the newer retro models is having the original Nike swoosh.

Thé thing I prefer on the original version is the front line between the 2 colors on the sole, uniform on the 1985, I guess molding process technology is way more mastered now days. Great video by the way :)

good video. I prefer the Jordan 1s they are retroing now. Did the shadow and royal custom from Blk n white yin Yang's and honestly the leather is high quality and the wings logo is more refined and sharper not to mention easier to repaint because they are stamped in. not much easier but a pattern I can follow with my paint brush. finally they are more comfortable. the 2001 Breds are comfy cuz of the think ankle collar but they are more mike mids

I've noticed that slope/curve on the ankle collar on my black toes banned and royals it's the only thing that somewhat bothers me but they're still clean I think the 2013 1s got the ankle collar right but the remastered 1s got the height right tho

I bet if the swoosh was larger and the rubber was more durable and slightly thicker we would have a nice product. The royals and banneds would have been amazing retros if they didn't have such inconsistencies in materials.

Honestly, if the changes and differences are for the better comfort and aesthetic, then I'm all for it. I personally prefer the slimmer toebox on the retros than the OG just because it gives a slimmer look and makes the shoes look less bulky. I also enjoy the tumbled leather on the Bred as it makes the shoe a lot more flexible to wear and requires no break-in time. However, the OG has the best overall leather quality as it uses genuine leather for the most part. I definitely would appreciate it if Jordan Brand incorporates newer technologies and materials such as Flyknit/Flyweave, full-length unlocked Zoom, Luneron/ZoomX, onto the AJ1.

I just think it has a valid point to upgrade the AJ1 because it's a classic among the classics and it still has one of the best on-court traction. But just imagine one of oldest (or probably the oldest) signature shoes with a few upgrades then is on par with any other current performance models, how cool would that be? The shoe is 30+ years old (design-wise) and would still kicks ass!

J Bullock That's true but unfortunately the traction on AJ31 isn't on par with AJ1, which in my opinion is a huge let down because AJ1 is known for best traction on court. That's why I'd rather have the old shoes with upgrades than designing new shoes that are trying to mimic old shoes.
