I'm still new to the hobby and the first time I've seen the AJ5, before knowing it was inspired by aircraft nose art, I immediately thought of the head of a dragon/Elvarg from RuneScape: the netting being the eyes and the midsole being the teeth. I love olive green and orange, so this colorway is 9/10 for me (would've been a 10 if the tongue was olive).

Great review and fully agree on the lace locks. And yes the teeth are to resemble the nose art of the WW2 fighter plane P-40 Warhawk.

This reminds me of that craft 5 that dropped this past summer only in green. I love the orange actually. If I do happen to get a pair, i might put orange laces in them but that's just me. Or cream like I did for the craft 4s. But I agree the lace locks are just a waste of plastic.

I like the orange. They will go great with Miami gear. I want to put blue laces in to flow with all my Florida gear. The texture is nice on these.

Agree re. the orange accents 100%! Jordan brand has been screwing up clean colourways of several Jordan 3s now with those silly orange accents: Cool grey, Court Purple, Pine green, Desert elephant. Any of those colourways would benefit if the orange accents are replaced with other more neutral tones, or just black/white. These olive 5s would look so much cleaner if the orange accents are replaced with black or dark olive.

I wore dunk on Mars 5s tonight. They feel great. They look great with the A Ma 5 pale yellow laces. Agreed the lace binky and lace lock are go in the trash. Haaaaaa!
