This would be interesting, except for the robo narration. Horrible.

The usual oil for fotary engines was castor oil. This meant that the pilot was sprayed constantly with the laxative oil. So maybe tooling around in his red Fokker triplane, the Red Baron was likely the brown-trouser baron by the end of some of his sorties.

Inaccuracies. Premier engines of WW1 were Hispano Suiza's, Renault Robin's, and Hall Scott. Best use of Rotaries were Nieuports with smaller 60 and 80 horsepower motors that could downthrottle. Lewis swivel or Scharff ring guns were the best air to air weapons, and didn't depend on synchronised fire. The best planes of WW1 were Renault powered Breguet 14's ( 6 versions ) observer, bomber, seaplane, ambulance, airline, and radio plane, American Liberty Dehavilland 4's, and rare Spad 7 and 13 models. Monosoupape rotaries were inefficient, depended on valve stagger for maximum blast, and didn't downthrottle in their larger versions. Dehavilland 4's ended the war with flexibility, sheer numbers, invincibility to attack, flight duration, and detail bombing ( 32 bombs per flight ).

Brown did not shoot down the Red Baron. He was shot down by an Australian machine gunner on the ground.

Not sure if The Red Baron "defined the fighter jet" is accurate, since jet aircraft didn't exist in his time.

its amazing how you don't know the difference between a Sopwith Camel and a Pup. Almost every time you discussed a Pup you showed pictures a Camel. and while talking about the Camel you showed pictures of a Sopwith Snipe. The model box at the end is cute, did you build it?

Did the Camel kill more British pilots than German ones? It was notoriously tricky to handle.

interesting video, more control input needed at higher RPM I understand like low landing PRM the aircraft would be more stable but dog fighting, input control changes power set planes were made aerodynamic stable Sopwith camel, with understanding and clever use torque technique there pilot's were all hero's flying unique, helicopter uses tail rotor to stabilise twist pilot who understood good flyer's were aces they say its the best one the best when tamed of WW1 made in Egerland, I'm lucky and proud to be English like plane hadn't seen on documentary on, so thanks

Robovoice is annoying - cut off sentences, images not synched to the narration. You need to edit your videos and then watch your videos while listening to them, note the errors and correct them before publishing. You can't rely an autocrrect, you need a proof reader. A few blatant errors - no rotary engine weighs "three ell bee". And aircraft don't yawn when changing attitude - they yaw. Good info overall but you need to work on the narration.

So much confusion here - much of it apparently generated by the grossly misleading caption to the colour profile at 20:29, which is taken from an unknown published source. The image itself is nicely done, but it omits the a/c serial, which was painted on the rudder. A white horizontal bar impinging on the blue and red vertical stripes carried the number 8102, while the letter E surmounted it, centred on the white vertical stripe, both in black. This a/c was indeed flown by Barker in Sept.-Oct., 1918, on the Western Front, in his epic, single-handed dogfight with up to 60 Fokker D.VIIs, in which he shot down at least 4, despite receiving terrible wounds to his left arm and leg. This action won him the Victoria Cross and the a/c's fuselage is preserved at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa! The trouble is is that the caption refers to it as his trusty Camel #B6313 from the Italian Front, whereas #E8102 is a late-model Snipe! The distinction is important, given that this video is supposedly dedicated to the Camel and especially so because (a) 'Will' Barker was the foremost exponent of the type, having downed 44 enemy a/c and 6 observation balloons in Italy and (b) because this also made Camel #B6313 its most successful individual example. Barker was forced to give up his beloved mount in late August, 1918 when he was posted to England to train new pilots. He removed the clock from B6313 as a souvenir, but was forced to return 'His Majesty's property' or face a theft charge! Sadly, no attempt was made to preserve her for posterity.
