Thanks for sharing, Good shooting and Vid, I found a few big oak frees on one of my permissions loaded with acorns, Only place i could see everything that arrived in the trees for a feast was 40/45yds away and then it was Game on :) I have been over every other day for the last 2 weeks and every time I've had 10 to 14 Squirrels in the bag each time and so far I've also shot 15 Jays and loads of wood pigeons too, I used my .20 Mk1 Theoben Rapid on these But I also have a .22 TTR and a .177 S-Type both equally Very effective and with these Theoben you get Loads of shots per charge, Keep up the Good work/advice...Young ones need help/advice for hunting...I've been shooting for near 50years now and still love this sport! Atvb and Happy hunting ;)

+Nite Hunter Sounds like great shooting. Oak trees are certainly productive places to target at this time of year. Mat

I put a UTG Bugbuster ($85) on my Gamo Hornet Maxxim 22 and in only 250 shots it wont hold zero anymore and I cant even get the scope to adjust up far enough with the elevation knob now?...screw UTG, all the extras that don't matter and no quality! I'm going to buy A Hawk Vantage model, just not sure what one yet...looking on amazon, will order one tomorrow !

Hey Mat, Great show! I was wondering where you have bought that nice beanbag :) Is it from Jack Pyke?
@theshootingshow9 жыл бұрын
+Andreas Rasmussen Hi Andreas. Bough the camo bean bag several years ago, and struggling to find a new camo one to replace it. Would like to hear from anyone who can track one down. All the best, Mat

what do you do with the squirrels when finish
@theshootingshow9 жыл бұрын
+Jake Ingleby Hi Jake. Some end up on the table, and others go to friends who keep ferrets. The tails go to friends who use the fibres to tie fly-fishing hooks. All the best, Mat.

+xIRATUMx Well one man's view is another's invisibility,....or something like that,..You know, I didn't see Matt for a moment as he sat by that tree. I did when he moved the rifle. I guess my 'old' eyes aren't as sharp as they used to be. I'm glad I'm not a Gray squirrel with Matt's shooting prowess. Nice show Matt, thanks for this,...see you soon,....or not !!
@tasmedic9 жыл бұрын
+xIRATUMx That's why Mat sat down in front of the nice brown oak tree. Plus, he did say that when the squirrels have heaps of food to go at, they get less cautious. He wasn't even going to bother with the head net, but he thought it might keep the midges off. All you have to do is watch the video, and listen. The answers are all there.....

+xIRATUMx Looking down from in the trees is a lot more brown as opposed to the camera mans point of view.
@theshootingshow9 жыл бұрын
+James Buell Absolutely right. It's surprising how many hunters don't realise that any quarry that's off the ground is likely to be viewing you against the woodland floor.
