My god, NV has come a long way and become a lot better value in 5 years hasn't it?!

Matt stop by the hardware store pick up some foam injectable foam and squirted up the center Pole of your shooting sticks. That'll help you cut down on the noise that's coming off of them shooting sticks. Just make sure you don't inject the wrong pole and completely destroy the telescopic feature.

Thanks Stephan. I still really enjoy lamping - pity we had such a terrible night, though. All the best. Mat

Another good show Matt , notice you always seem to use the MK4 when on the bunnys
@theshootingshow8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Nick. I've been using the Mk4 for about seven years - I'm very familiar with it, so it's always a good option if I expect the going to be tough. All the best. Mat

Thanks once again for the fieldcraft tips, Mat. I have to say, though, that the lamp you were using has a very noisy switch on it. Does it come with a remote pressure switch you can fix elsewhere on the rifle? I think you did very well considering the conditions and that noisy switch. Production note.The last segment had some sound issues, clicks and pops, not sure why. Best wishes.
@theshootingshow8 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Yes, we noticed those clicks and pops, and couldn't get rid of them... Yes, the F900 kit does include a pressure switch. All the best. Mat

Hello. Can you tell me where I can find bulb for F900? I’m French and I don’t find seller who export. Thank you.

Great stalking Mat, is it your quiet clothes or Nicky's sensitive sound system but you were making quite a bit of rustling noise and there was something knocking on your person. Still you made the best of a poor evening showing the lamp (be it white or red) still has a place in the night hunting scene.
@theshootingshow8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Darran. Yes, we noticed that too when we played it back. Couldn't hear it on the night - nothing like a sensitive mic to show up noisy kit... All the best. Mat
@Afro4087 жыл бұрын
Well, with all those loose straps and buckles on Mat's pack, it's no wonder there was a knocking noise. :)

Afraid hat is discontinued, but if you search for peaked fleece hat by Quiet Wear, you should find something very similar. All the best. Mat

Hi Matt, I really enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing. I have the old Viper but I am thinking to get an X-Sight II instead. What are your thoughts?
@theshootingshow8 жыл бұрын
Hi Peter. It depends whether you want a dedicated NV unit or an add-on. Both are very good. I suggest you give the X-Sight a try and also have a look at the R-TEK range - that should give you an idea as to what will suit you best. All the best. Mat

nice shooting matt as always can I ask how do u know your close enough in the dark as I'm still learning any hints and tips for me
@theshootingshow8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Scott. I use the mil-dots on the scope to bracket the rabbit's head. When the size relationship looks right I know the range is correct. It's not pin-point but it's usually precise enough. All the best. Mat

ok thanks for replying I shall put that in to practice

hello I have the nite-site wolf and it's a grat bit of kit I do also lamp wud you recommend getting the new new or keeping the old ?

Hi John. The new version is excellent. It may be worth considering adding the R Camera to your existing set up if you want the one-touch recording. All the best. Mat

Hi Mat, nice to see you back out in the field with the MK4, and some fine shooting through the Sony viewer, but somebody needs more practice with the editing software concerning the sound levels, your in-studio voice-overs were way too quiet :0( /simon
@theshootingshow8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Simon. We'll make sure the voiceover lever is higher next time. All the best. Mat

Good show overall, but there is something wrong with the voice-over audio during the hunting session. Barely audible.

Thanks for the heads up - we'll make sure it's sorted for the next one.

No problem my friend. I'm sure others had the same thought and just wanted to be able to hear your words of wisdom! I enjoy your program a great deal and have learned a lot about air guns and hunting in general. Keep up the good work.

Like the video but if it takes several hours to get three rabbits with a fac gun, imagine how hard it would be with a proper airgun, at twelve foot per pounds.
@theshootingshow8 жыл бұрын
Very good point, Carl. However, as chances were limited I ended up getting in pretty close for the shots because I didn't want to mess up the few opportunities we did get. The shots I took were between 25 and 35 metres, as you'll see from the relationship between the rabbits' heads and the scope reticle. I reckon a shooter with a legal limit airgun would have done about the same - probably better in the absence of a cameraman and all the talking. All the best. Mat
