Very good ranking. I’ve been into The Cure since the dinosaurs roamed the Earth lol , I’m in my late 50’s. The latest album ‘Songs Of A Lost World ‘ is a pleasant surprise in comparison to their last and very disappointing’ 413 Dream’ which I agree with you it is their worst. For me their latest album is up there with’ Disintegration’, ‘ Seventeen Seconds’ , ‘ Faith’ & ‘ Pornography’. Thank you.

Thanks for watching and commenting. I'm very much enjoying SOALW too. I think Endsong is going to remain as one of those classics that are in the set every tour. Hope Robert's next batch of songs come out soon and they keep this vibe going.

Ross did a great job with the self titled album and getting good performances out of the band - he fought with Robert to put on the best songs including The Boy I Never Knew which is the best of the session. Robert messed that album up himself - i would rank it under 4:13. I also would rank Booodflowers fairly low - i love Out Of This World and Last Day of Summer but isn’t part of some magic trilogy. Imagine how much better Wish would be if they pulled off Wendy Time, End, and Cut and added This Twilight Garden, Play, and The Big Hand or Halo? The Top is a top 5 album for me. I love Kiss Me and love how high you have it ranked. Disintegration is the best for sure but I listen to Head On The Door the most now.

I also became a fan because of the Standing On A Beach cassette and WMS was also the first album I actually witnessed being released. I guess we’re about the same age, lol. I still remember buying the The 13th single on a school trip in Liège - Belgium. Not digging the a-side but loving the b-sides. My top five of Cure albums would be 1 Disintegration 2 Faith 3 Wish 4 Pornography 5 Mixed Up (ok, I’m cheating here, but I adore that album) My favorite live album by any band ever is Entreat which in a way I love even more than the studio recordings on Disintegration. I would love to see more of your collection! Regards from a new subscriber from The Netherlands!

I have a soft spot for Mixed Up too, it was the first CD I ever bought. I really enjoy the re-recordings of A Forest, The Walk and the 12 Inch versions of Lullaby and Fascination Street are incredible. Planning a Song of a Lost World update video once my mail arrives (we have a postal strike here in Canada) and will good to live (official and unofficial) soon as well!

@everylastoneeverylastone Have you already ordered the @ The Troxy live album? I only went for the one disk black vinyl this time. And yes, the extended mixes on Mixed Up are incredible. My favorites are Fascination Street, Lullaby and Lovesong which are to me the ultimate versions of those tracks. I also love their Torn Down remixes release. For some reason it didn't get a lot of attention at all but that The Drowning Man (bright birds mix) song alone is utterly beautiful.

Jupiter Crash is my fav track on the 96 album. At first listen I was surprised by what i was hearing as it was almost like jazzy-pop with some tracks. It grew on me though after more listens. Their 2004 self titled album, "Labyrinth" was a great track I thought... I have yet to listen to a few of their earlier albums (shame on me, I know), so I can't form an opinion on their entire catalog.

@everylastoneeverylastone13 күн бұрын
I think it's a good track off the self titled (had to cut out what I said about it, video went too long). I think many fans see it as a retread of Just Like Heaven, especially with the similar guitar riff. I even saw this get implied in the recent Trash Theory video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ip7NqXSalMl2pMk To me it's better than Alt.End which Robert insisted on playing live for years, and my third favourite off the self titled after Going Nowhere and Before Three. I wouldn't mind if he pulled it out again on an upcoming tour.

Great list, I strongly recommend including Japanese Whispers. Yes, it's a singles and b-sides compilation, but: 1)None of the material was duplicated on any other release (save for the singles on Standing on a Beach, but so were all singles) 2) It's organized to flow like an album rather than left in chronological order. 3) They left off the quirky Mr Pink Eyes, clearly because it didn't fit the flow. 4) It's awesome. Just One Kiss and Lament are classic deeper cuts!

The bottom half of your ranking is pretty sweet, pretty spot on. But you lost me at Wish. To me that’s their strongest album, even more than disintegration. But I could argue that it would be number two behind disintegration. Kiss me with my first cure record I ever got and I worshiped at the time but I think it should’ve ran ranked much lower. It’s not a great album, it’s an interesting collection of individual concepts.

Thanks for your thoughts. If you had asked me as a teen to rank these, I too used to enjoy Wish slightly higher than Disintegration. I'm kind of surprised I had it so low, but these do tend to move around at different points in life and I feel the margins between them are razor thin. To me Wish is the last of their imperial period and I'd often tell people it's under rated. When re-listening, amidst all the great moments, a few of the tracks felt a little long, a little forced. However any other band should be lucky to have an album like Wish in their catalog.
