These The Algorithm music videos were a crucial stepping stone in me discovering new underground metal and electronic music. I will always have an appreciation for this aesthetic. Thank you Remi.

@TopHatThief The pioneers of djent were masters of bringing new, creative elements into music. This artist has done the same, and every time you invent a genre, even a fusion genre, you're going to alienate some of the fans of the genres you borrowed from. You can dislike it all you want, but this is about as perfect as a harmony of djent and dubstep could ever be. It was bound to happen, djent and dubstep artists are both prone to venture into experimental territories. And it's amazing.

This is really interesting, not what I'd usually listen to, but it's different from anything I've heard and I really like it. The technicality at points is just really really fun, maybe not mind bending, but fun.

@TopHatThief It's funny you say that Because Any one who listens to this music acquired the taste. It's not a genre you just "listen to" . You actually need to find it by accident due to a relating band. Or work your self into it from other genre's to really enjoy it. I can understand why you think it's awkward to listen to because of its very juxtaposed sound. It's kinda like drinking beer Acquired taste.

@james163163 how so... Djent is described as a guitar guitar tone characterized by medium-high gain, and a quick-release noise gate to emphasize staccato playing. anything else within the music I believe is not unique to said "genre" of djent, seeing as the drums, polyrhythmic grooves are found in many other genres excluding music with djenty guitars, the bass, is just towards lower frequency cut offs, still not very unique to define a djent genre, the vocals obviously are not unique to the sub
@EcuadorFreak13 жыл бұрын
@james163163 Because it's a guitar tone/onomatoepoeia or however you spell that word. it does not describe any other aspect of music or instrument in the band, so why use it to address the musical pieces and style in its entirety. strictly a guitar only, descriptive term.

@james163163 -genre, and electronic samples and passages found within most djent music should not practically be deemed unique to that music or genuine in a way as to define or form a genre. Seeing as all other elements in the music other than the guitar do not contribute to forming a unique distinction between anything deemed the false genre of "djent," versus any other modern progressive/technical, metal act, i see no reason to rationally address it as such. Djent is guitar sound commonly att
