Yep! They’re so easy to work with. I’ve built a watch recently without any experience and it was a doddle with the NH35.

1ST watch for your son ideally be the Militado ML05 less than £30 in sale ..sapphire screw down crown 38mm drilled lugs You cant go wrong or the Militado MLO7 36mm A11 inspired WW1 piece ...not sapphire but K1 top hat crystal the distortion is awesome i love mine... Yet again around £30 with discounts...Both mecca quartz ...Or the boderry Voyger another solid offering seen em as low as £60 plus discounts..Titanium sapphire ..screw down case back...Youve also got the Addiesdive AD2048 super awesome piece as low as £32 PLUS DISCOUNTS... So many choices for a great first easy reading field watch... Great review...

Thanks mate. And that’s some excellent alternatives. I wanted to include the Militado but I thought it was too close to the Baltany in style and i know what quality to expect with Baltany, but the Militado is an unreal price! I had to knock the Boderry voyger off the shortlist for him, simply with it being a 40mm and him being so tiny that I didn’t want to risk it. It’s a stunning looking watch though!

@@FullyLumed tbh i find the voyager wears smaller than 40mm due to its casing the actual dial i reckon is just shy of 30mm..Great piece though.. Maybe a RDUNAE RA03 34mm... Very similar to me Militado 07 thats 36mm...

I would suggest the Militado ML05. The Baltany is nice, but it's an old man watch with a quartz tick. The Tandorio would be cool if not for the comically large crown. The Berny is decent, and it's available without the stupid name on the dial, but it has a push pull crown, snap on caseback, and the bracelet is a hair nipper that feels like sandpaper. The ML05 has a tool vibe, no weird branding, screw down crown and caseback, and a sapphire crystal, it's a proper watch.

Thanks mate. I’ll check out the Militado again. The only reason I’d ignored it was because I kept finding conflicting information about the lug to lug size.

A Cadisen has got a Miyota 9000 movement for under a $100. Edit: this watch is absolutely incredible at whatever price you get it for. It’s a beautifully thin watch with a 40mm dial that’s 35mm by itself. It’s also incredibly accurate. My watch is running about two seconds fast a day. Miyota is absolutely killing it with these 9k movements.

@@FullyLumed lol, yes! I’m picking one of those up! The only other Miyota 9k movement I have is unbelievably accurate. Of course, it’s a series 8 GMT, but still, I’m excited to see what I get. lol. 🤞

I’d be interested to hear your thoughts when it arrives. I love the 9000 series - I bang on about it in a few videos 😂 , it’s an excellent range of movements. If it was Swiss, it would be thought of much more highly than the ETA/Sellita. I hope the watch is good for you mate!

@@FullyLumedI just received the watch and I’m very excited. The strap isn’t the best quality but they go that little extra bit by adding a deployment clasp that’s decent. I think I’m going to have a lot of fun putting straps onto this watch. All in all, you can’t beat the price for what you get. A 9015 movement by itself is going for $60 so I’m impressed with what I got.

The Hruodland Retro Skin Diver (5:04) don't have a saphire crystal but a hardened K1 mineral crystal (hardlex) that gives it a better vintage look imho. It's an homage to the Omega Seamaster 300 Ref ST165.024.

My wife and I love our Berny watches. That model: we each have one with the Sinn hands and dial. I also gave her one with the lovely white dial and black band. A great watch.

If you check my community page, it’s linked up on there. I can’t share links in the comments sorry. I think a lot of people have missed it as it’s labelled as a women’s watch on aliexpress. But it’s a good unisex size and the darker colours are nice and masculine.

The Tandoori 36 mm in red is gorgeous. I got it last year. It works perfectly and is a beauty to look at. You have to replace the black nylon bracelet though.

Nice video dude, I think I might get that Berny, in the Desert colour. I love that watchdives also. I have been watching that Berny with the internal rotating bezel for a couple of years and really want one of those also. A little warning on the Seestern. I bought the Blue one, but in most lighting conditions its more grey than blue, only under certain light does that nice pastel blue come out.

@@FullyLumed The quality is really nice, its an alloy case, but the aestheic of the watch is lovely, the strap is nice. I spent £60 on it, so to see it come in to the sale for a bit less is a nice opportunity for others to save a few quid :) I love the pastel blue, but would consider buying the white as it will wear with a greater variety of clothing colours.

@FullyLumed I have just bought an Aragon watch, this will be my 15th Aragon watch that I have bought. Every year they do a 'mystery box' so you don't know what you get until you get it, a big risk but quite fun. This year they are doing a Tritium T100 watch for $129 which is a steal (yes, I have to pay import duties) but it should be a really good watch. I had to remove the link, it seemed to stop my replies. If you are interested I can link you some other way.

The Explorer homage from Pagani is a great first mechanical watch for a young man. Simple, rugged, sporty and dressy.

Will be watching the whole video of course and will comment further after. However, if you want to get your son a great field watch? Why not look into the Vario 1918 Trench Watch? I have one and it's probably the third most worn in my collection. I have the grey dial. Also one advantage? Small at 37mm but even better? Wired lugs so that puppy won't come off at all!

of the ones you showed off the Welly Merk and the 50 fathoms homage got my attention. If I had the cash I'd be getting a Tactical Frog Doxa homage. Along with a Tag Monaco homage if I could find a good one

@@FullyLumed If you buy any Monaco homages review them please! Also, no problem on the Vario! It's a bit more expensive than the Ali stuff but I feel like you're getting a MUCH better value with it! Because well it's impossible for it to fall off. Also I can attest to it being able to withstand a small beating as I do tend to use it as a watch I wear when I don't want to knock my Reverie diver about. Plus it's super comfortable on my roughly 6.25 - 6.5 inch wrist. Also, pretty light weight as well. I have the grey enamel dial.

I really like your taste. I've been watching a bunch of these videos about the 11/11 sale and I haven't seen most of these mentioned elsewhere. Now the hard part do I go with the Hruodland Retro Sport (which comes with an unbranded option??) or the Merkur World.

Thanks! The Merker is probably higher on my wish list than the Hruodland, but if it wasn’t so close to Christmas I’d definitely get both! It comes with a sterile dial version, yes. But at least their logo is inoffensive if you’re not a fan of steriles. Thanks for watching!

I would assume there’s only as much chance of that as any other China made product, so pretty much the majority of everything we buy. Many of the factories produce watches for western high street brands as well.
