What are these Guardsmen doing in the Inquisition? Well...they survived orks, traitors, more orks, tyranids, and ten Inquisition missions where they had to deal with hilariously incompetent commanding officers, traitors ranging in power level from Inquisitor to Space Marine, necrons, daemons and other Warp phenomena, politicians, and still more orks. In short: they earned their position by survival against all odds. I'd say that's a damn good resume.

@@LostArchivist I dunno...good investigators usually have to be good at surviving against all odds. Besides, the guardsmen are pretty good at finding a solution to weird problems. It's often treasonous, heretical, or overly-destructive, but it's better than nothing.

I really hope this ends with the space marines coming to a greater appreciation for the guardsmen party and maybe the guard as a whole. Tbh sarge probably deserves a few of those special augmentations they give to people to old to become space marines.

@@MarkATorres1989 I am of the opinion he uses them as a cat's paw. Their tendency towards massive collateral damage means everyone, regardless of intent, focuses on them instead of more...covert agents. Also there are jobs where the mailed fist is more effective than the normal tactics.

It´s insane how humanizing this story is to space marines. Can you imagine, a space marine realizing the awkwardness of the situation when that group of absolute lunatics that his chapter got assigned to is NOT from any of the "heroic" guardsmen legions but just a bunch of absolute fuck ups that SOMEHOW survived the grim darkness to become Inquisition troops assigned to a SPACE MARINE mission? The sheer idea of something like this in the grim darkness of the universe being anything but realistic, is hilarious to me.

I am just wondering why they sent 2 marines from a Chapter instead of a Deathwatch Kill Team since Deathwatch technically works for the Inquisition
