cool, favorited- I'm getting one of these and it's especially nice to see one close up and next to a car to imagine the dimensions and stuff.

I just picked one up today. I was surprised that it got up to 45 mph easily. I wanted to push it to 50 but since it had just rolled off the showroom floor, I didn't want to push it too hard.

This might be the ideal urban scoot, if you live in an area with good roads. Obviously it'd also be great for a college campus. Thanks for posting!

The winds do present a problem if they gust above 15-20mph, especially if you are travelling above 40mph on the scoot. The bike only weighs 254lbs, I'm light as well (155lbs) so it tends to be very unstable. For neighborhood runs at 25-30mph, the winds don't matter as much.

Even in 2021, this bike is still highly relevant as an urban commuter! In Sweden it is called "Honda Lead" and the average used prices are about 1200 USD. I may even consider one when I get my motorbike license in 2022.

You're right about the peg next to the ignition cover used to close it without the key, it took me a few times before I realized it. I hope you do get one because it doesn't disappoint. Over 50mph, 100mpg and plenty of storage and passenger room, whats not to like :)

Just got one today, err picking it up tomorrow. First bike / vehicle for me. I am really looking forward to it. :]

@AKB2192 The Elite 110 can hold a full face helmet & a 3/4 helmet or a lot of smaller items, its storage is the entire length of its seat, since the gas tank is under the floorboards. The tank holds 1.6 gallons and we averaged 100-105mpg with it. I also have an SH150i and I love it as well. My wife took over the SH150, we sold the Elite and I just got a 250cc Honda Reflex Sport. The Elite is an awesome scoot, just after 2 yrs we wanted more power for higher speed limit roads.

@TheGizmo4382 Thanks. I see some of the older Hondas still on the road, the Elite, like yours as well as the Helix & Reflex from 5 yrs ago etc. It says something about the quality of their scoots.

That is awesome, you will love it. Congrats!!

@AKB2192 The Reflex is a 250cc scooter that Honda sold from 2001-2008. Resembles a smaller version of the Silverwing, Honda's largest scoot at 600cc. It will do 80mph and get 75mpg. The Honda CBR 250r is very nice, our local dealer is selling them faster than they can get them in. There is even a waiting list. Best of luck and be careful with it.

@fdiskrn Thanks for watching. I traded the Vino in on the Honda mainly for its "two up" capability. The Vino bogged down considerably and you can forget about climbing hills with it. The Elite can still hold 55mph even with a passenger and loses very little when going up hill. With its liquid cooled fuel injection I consistently get 100mpg and a little more if riding alone. At less than 3,000 I don't think this bike can be beat for value.

Nice scooter, but I wish I could find a HONDA MB5, which was a 50cc, 2 stroke, 5-speed manual bike from the early 80's that I had for a while. That bike had a sweet 'powerband', and it could hit 60 MPH, and was a blast to ride! I'm in the market for a small bike or scooter, and am looking at the Honda Elite or the Cleveland MotorWerks 250cc bikes, which are priced very nicely! I want to spend a max of $3K or so. Thanks for posting.

yea, i have the same exact bike. great little scooter.i bought this because i could not get financed for a zuma 125. but im gonna write to honda to make a 150cc ruckus. same frame and tire. just bigger go go. they had a 250 ruckus but looked like crap and they got rid of it.

@Phut68 Enjoy your new scoot, it is an awesome machine, I'm finally getting some good riding in, after the nasty Ohio winter. I'm still under 500mi though. MPG has been great at 93-100, even with a passenger!!!!!!!!

Performance would go to the Elite. Although it has smaller displacement, it has more power. I've had them both at 50+ mph and the Elite gets there faster. The Vino may top out higher, but 55 is as fast as I've gone on either.
@strkngfang12 жыл бұрын
I think you are referring to the restrictor that Honda put in the engine to only allow a top speed of 53 mph. There might be a way to remove it, but I don't know anyone that has ever tried.
@fdiskrn14 жыл бұрын
Awesome video, I want one. What did you do with your Vino 125, did you sell it or trade it in for the Elite 110? I'm wondering why you got the Elite because power wise, they are almost the same.
@strkngfang13 жыл бұрын
@BradSD25 They are both excellent scoots. It is more of a style preference. The PCX will be a little faster, around 60mph but everything else is pretty even. They are both too small for highway use so it comes down to a traditional look vs a maxi scooter type look. You won't go wrong with either one.
@IcYh3rMiT13 жыл бұрын
How much did you end up paying for it? Great video by the way. I am looking into buying a Vespa or Ruckus but the Elite did catch my attention and online they run up to 3gs.

How does it handle in the wind with them high speeds? If you reached 50 to 60 mph that is not bad.

@verizonphoner I'm not familar with the 125 version but only have nice things to say about the larger HD 200, I have friends that ride them. They are well put together but parts and service are a question mark now in the US, so their future is uncertain?
@strkngfang12 жыл бұрын
It has a top speed of 53 mph, so no highway use. All other roads are okay, depends on your laws.

I was just wondering about your longer term experience with Honda. How long did this scooter last for you? Was it dependable?
@strkngfang Жыл бұрын
I only kept it a few years, moving up to the Silverwing & then back to a perfect size Forza. All Honda scooters are dependable & will last a long time.

@@strkngfang Thank you for getting back to me on that. I bought a 2023 Honda Elite last week. I live in Central America out in the country. We don't have many options out where I live. Honda only offers a few inexpensive models in Latin America. The Elite is the only scooter offered. The Elite is not talked about much since it is an old model. Its not popular where I live. They like the traditional style small motorcycle pretty much. Thanx again.

@currytub yes. Most states require a full motorcycle endorsement for anything over 50cc. Some, like Ohio its a law no matter of the size cc.

@nysk8r247 Definitely check with your BMV first. Most states you can get a scooter under 50cc without a license etc but I don't know any where a 14 yr old can get one with over 100cc's without a motorcycle endorsement first.
