@YounggApex2 жыл бұрын
Sadly this is going to be too true. The Type R went for $15-25k more CONSISTENTLY and I don't expect a price of less than $45-60 on the Corolla here in CA. Nissan is going to gouge as well on their 400z so don't look to there for safety. Most likely it'll be the m230i and other BMW offerings. Maybe even the A35 AMG. 'Doesn't need AWD' does not make sense given how much more you can 'potentially' get from it. 'Not wanting AWD' or 'not the heritage' might make sense, but.. there's a reason why they are limiting the amount of power - because it's getting close to the max for FWD.
@commentmancommentman16582 жыл бұрын
this types of comments are the types that makes me cringe asf, there are many fwd cars not just type r that is faster than awd competitors examples are elantra N/velosterN, megane RS, mini cooper(the track version). Also honda heritage? the real honda sport car heritage is a rwd drive car and that was the 1st gen nsx and s2000 was a sportscar that targetted the european roadsters at that time. Integra R and civic R were only made because honda wants to build a cheap sportscar for the masses because the nsx at that time was ridiculously expensive.

Every time Honda updates us on the Civic Type-R, the less I care about the GR Corolla lol. I’m intertwined more to the track rather than rally, and it seems like every Toyota fan bashes other car manufacturers just for not being a Toyota? I’m confused because it’s the littlest things they criticize, mainly because no research or they just can’t afford it? Like, when it comes to Toyota, whatever they design is praised while other manufacturers is heavily criticized. And everyone is asking Honda to implement AWD in the Type-R because it’s “outdated” while there are Corollas with AWD? I understand the push but Honda isn’t ruining their tradition as it does add more weight and less compatibility to their car. Lol idk, to me the GR Corolla is bland I’d rather invest in the GR Yaris
@barsaf99892 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you. I'm a subaru guy looking to buy my first new car and it sucks they took away the sti. So naturally I look towards the type R, nissan Z, and GR corolla. And to me, the corolla looks ugly. But what gets me is the community. So many people who own toyotas WILL NOT even consider another brand just because of "reliability." Now I'm sure the GR corolla will be amazing to drive, but the honda will also be amazing. I don't want honda to add awd because it gives the car community a more diverse selection. The different drives gives the cars different characteristics. I'm just glad they are still making these cars because I don't think they will be for much longer.

Ayo Honda USA, allow people to custom order the vehicle online at MSRP. The Honda stealerships in Virginia are terrible. stop with the childish drag bla-bla... no one cares. If you are buying a honda for drag races, you are buying the wrong vehicle. Go find an awd, dsg golf r and you'll be a happier man.
@1ndz39802 жыл бұрын
@@eugenux if I was wrong then u wouldn’t be getting people drag racing type r s. Type R drivers are as competitive as BMW driver and Golf R drivers. We don’t often go track racing tho the car is track focussed. We still want to do the occasional robot to robot dash. Some places have communities where they go against other brand communities. Racing is a culture.
@eugenux2 жыл бұрын
@@1ndz3980 this is not about being competitive or not. This is about not going to a gun fight with a knife. A fwd manual car can maximum compete with the same type of vehicle; if you do that, you don't have a problem. If you start being serious about drag races, go rwd or awd with launch systems. a fwd can only do so much when the vehicle weight at start/launch is detrimental in relation with the axle of which its power is deployed. So, if you want a fast launch hatchback, the type-r isn't that. If you want to do serious laptimes on a circuit or a race track, yes, the type-r is that car.
