Mitsubishi Motors has a reputation to keep, and with that, they have brought the 2024 XForce. The all-new XForce made its debut at the 2023 GAKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show. According to the automaker, this new model will be built at Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Indonesia. In addition, it will first join the Indonesian market before joining the other ASEAN markets, such as Vietnam and the Philippines. It is also expected to roll out in South Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa.
We have already established that it will have an exterior with a stylish yet powerful, authentic design. But what exactly makes it stand out?
On the side, there are rich, muscular surfaces that combine the front and rear sculpted fender flares and character lines. This greatly expresses the strength and dynamism of the SUV. And by adopting the same T-shaped design for the LED taillights that are on the front, the rear becomes wider with a more stable look.
This is the first Mitsubishi model to use mélange fabric for the padding of the instrument panel. This provides a sense of enclosure as it continuously covers the door trim. This highly practical fabric has given the interior a sense of modernity and sophistication. And the good thing is, you don’t have to worry about stains because this fabric is resistant to stains.
Even though the XForce has a compact body size, it is quite roomy. The interior space allows passengers to ride in comfort without feeling congested in any way. For the front seats, there is top-class seating space. This comes with a spacious shoulder area to ensure that those sitting here are very comfortable. Mitsubishi ensured that the seats are both comfortable and offer support, which prevents lateral body movement during lane changes or on rough roads. Furthermore, they ensure comfort for the passengers even during traffic jams, reducing the fatigue that comes with waiting here.
The 2024 XForce is the next big thing for the automaker, coming with a lot of firsts. This will be the first Mitsubishi to come with Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium, which was developed in collaboration with Yamaha Corporation.
The design of the all-new Mitsubishi XForce has probably won over a few people who had doubts about it. And just when you think that it doesn’t get better, it does. Under the hood, the 2024 Mitsubishi XForce comes packed with quite the powertrain. It mainly gets its power from a non-electrified, naturally aspirated 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine, which is capable of producing about 103 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque. This is just the same powertrain found in the Mitsubishi Xpander. All the power from this engine is transmitted to the front axle through a CVT gearbox.
Even though it only comes with a two-wheel-drive offering, it has four drive modes, which are Normal, Wet, Gravel, and Mud. When you combine this with the Active Yaw Control (AYC) system and the “class-leading” ground clearance of 222 mm, this compact SUV can ride very comfortably even on rough and slippery surfaces. Not only that, but it is also capable of tackling flooded roads. Similarly, the suspension has been tuned for comfort on the not-so-freshly paved roads of the ASEAN region.
The 2024 Mitsubishi XForce is a brand new car coming to the ASEAN market. And from the sound and look of it, it seems as though it is perfect for this market. And this is not only with the performance but even the design. This is a car that will make heads turn and make the drivers feel special. And even better, it is going to give the most comfortable ride ever to anyone who gets a chance to sit in it.

I was at GIAAS in Jakarta, the motor show where this model was launched, and it is an attractive car to look at but lacks the performance to match, packing only 103 horsepower. And you're unlikely to see it on European or N. American roads because it doesn't meet the more stringent safety regulations of Western countries
