I used to not be the biggest fan of Trek bikes, especially the Top Fuel. I thought it looked clunky and too sharp and the size of the logo was way to big. Until today, when I stopped by a Trek bike shop to look around and saw the Top Fuel looked off, but better than I've ever seen it, the logo was smaller, the frame was slimmed down. Trek is taking a step in the right direction with the revamp of their Marlin and now the Top Fuel, I've never wanted a Trek more than now. The new Top Fuel will probably be replacing my clunky trail bike. ❤

So this is now basically a Gen 5 Fuel EX
@saschamare13 ай бұрын
My thoughts exactly
@plmn933 ай бұрын
Yep. After reading all the hype I bought a Gen 6 EX to replace my Gen 4 but ended up returning it. Too big, heavy, and cumbersome for most of my riding. This seems to be closer to what the EX used to be. Unfortunately they are hard to find so far, doesn't appear like they have even started to make the larger sizes yet.

Take notes specialized! This is how you give people more yes it is a fuel ex with less travel yet lighter. No bs, lots of adjustments yet simple. Trek you got something here don’t change it👍🏻

I'm currently converting my gen 2 from 120/120 to 130/140 for a bit more capability downhill. The 2022 version is still a great bike.

I don't know what downcountry means but this bike is the ducks nuts. 130mm with a 29 wheel is plenty of party at the front and you're not pedalling a tug boat - win win!
@mikehosfelt60165 ай бұрын
The wheel base on the TF size XL is now 1271. The wheel base on my 2022 size XL was 1241. That is perfect for a down country bike. Even the santa cruz tall boy wheelbase is 1250 in a XL which is suppose to be "the downhill" cx bike. So why do you stretch the new TF out this far? The fuel ex is 1280 something, so why put out something so close to it? You now go from the Supercaliber to the TF, quite a gap. Spec. has the epic in between. I don't get it?

$15,499 in Australia for the 9.9 X0 Transmission build, a full $1500 more than the $13,999 RRP on a Santa Cruz Tallboy 5 X0 Transmission with the Reserve carbon wheels, which is currently priced at $11,899. WTF is with Trek and Specialized charging more than boutique brands like Santa Cruz, Pivot, & Yeti?

Your new pricing is insane. And what happened to the affordable 9.7 ?? After several Treks, my next bike will probably be a different brand, I'm not paying $6,249 for an entry level carbon frame

I like the small logo and it looks great but how is it lighter if it's heavier in every build but 9.9 , also it's more expensive and you lose the carbon wheel in 9.8 trim

Curious about frame weight vs gen 2 Top Fuel (e.g., 2020)??…the gen 3 was well known to be a chonker, so not too surprising this one’s lighter than gen3.

While I loved mine while i had it, I got rid of it as the rear shock placement just not great for long days when I want to carry 2 bottles. I do love the versatility though.

Why did this bike get a mullet option? Don't get me wrong since it's an option this not really negative but the bike is made for great ascending and decent descending but not for bike park days at least that's how I interprete the information given in the video.
@trekbikes5 ай бұрын
Mullet wasn't designed for only the bike park, but for any rider looking to have a more nimble rear end around the trails - we've seen mullet becoming more popular for many trail bikes!
