Your lessons live on after 12 years. I have been at it for about a month now. I so envy real musicians that just get it. Thanks so much for this

This has been one of my favorite songs for years. I have played piano for the last 59 years but have not really focused on learning this solo. You make it so sensible and I love your fingering changes. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with the rest of the world.

Made it through all 3 videos and learned it in 2-3 days. Excellent explanations, very easy to follow. Thank you!

Thanks for all of your effort in putting this together. This is the best piano tutorial for Jessica that I've seen/heard by a long shot. In many respects the fingering is key on this solo and you actually take the time to explain it, where it counts. Excellent work - can't thank you enough... =:^)

That was super. You're very inspirational. Hopefully one day I can do this. My favorite piano solo of all time. I am not a musician, but I just have to be able to learn this before I die.

I am on a road trip and decided to spend my time learning this solo - without a piano at hand. I think I have processed this solo on a deeper level. Can’t wait to hit the keys! Thanks for your excellent teaching.

I cannot thank you enough. This took in an enormous amount of time for you but introduced me to actually playing a completely new genre. Your methodical approach is really appreciated as well as your occasional references to key form and theory (which I could’ve even use more of). Thank you so much great job!

Hi Tyler. I thought that I would never be able to learn this solo, but was able to nail it in a short period of time (for me). I cannot thank you enough for your tutorials. Now on to the next one! Thanks again!

Tyler, thank you sooooo very much for this lesson. Your teaching style is very good and your camera angle perfect too. Wonderful explanations! I play for fun in a basement band and I thought they were crazy to choose this song because of the piano solo. I am a good solid self made intermediate ish player. I feel so good about being able to even attempt this challenge. You made it somewhat do-able for me by breaking down patterns and demonstrating some techniques. Now I just need to practice, practice, pratice. I really don't think I could have figured all this out on my own. Some of the things I learned from you makes me feel as if I am taking a huge leap on my piano playing skills AND that makes it FUN! Thank you for ALL your hard work and the time you put into this tutorial. I am VERY appreciative of people like you who openly share your gift. Thanks! I have subscribed. AWESOME ! Looking forward to learning more from you.

Tyler thanks for taking your time and posting this great solo.When Chuck Leavell was asked about this solo he just said the notes just flowed out and I quote him.He was in his 20S back then you can hear the energy in his playing, amazing.Always loved this solo and could play it on the guitar somewhat for years.Decided to learn this on the piano where it sounds the best .I only know basic chords but thats changing and its a start.Know it now but slow thanks to you took me three days on and off.Thanks Glenn in N.Y.

Thank you a million times over!!!!!! How about the notes/run that is played coming out of the guitar solo that follows this. It goes d b a f# e d. Repeated. But then is what the run to create resolution to the g a pattern that follows??? Amy insight?

Fantastic and thanks for doing this. Sounds great, and the few naysayers below are chumps. Tackling any significant transcription is a lot of work. It's both important to development...and can be really time consuming. Lots of people can benefit and get ideas about how to approach this awesome song.

Have you heard the isolated track of Jessica on KZbin of Chucks playing your very close as there are some variants but you did great ... your videos inspired me to learn this solo .... Thanks Glenn Im a beginner

Why did I make this the first song I’ve ever tried to play? Ahhhhhh
@mightymaven796511 жыл бұрын
at 5:41(timing for the song) I know the 6 notes but i'm having trouble with the 18 notes that lead up to the familiar refrain(which I know already). Do you know those notes by any chance? I am playing guitar on this and I noticed you play guitar so I figured you might know/

Tyler, you are a fantastic instructor. Thank you so much for this instruction on how to play this solo. It sounded a lot more difficult to me but after watching your breakdown the only thing I have to do now is practice practice practice to get the smoothness and tempo down. I would like to see your rendition of the beginning of the song with the intro and cords leading up to the solo. Do you have that on line? Thank you again....you are quite accomplished!!

Great stuff. Chuck Leavell breaks this down in his instructional video but it is nowhere near the detail that you have gone into. Probably one of the most iconic solos in rock piano. Outstanding.

Sorry for the delay, this comment did show up in my inbox for some reason. In case you didn't already figure it out. The triplets part is.. D B A F# E D.. E F# D E D B.. D B A F# E D E F# G A B C B. than back to the chords. Hope that helps.
