We love to explore the stories about the witches around here. Not familiar with this one, such a sorry tale... The current residents at Tullibole Castle up the road still have the trial documents from the 1660's. Sure Stevensons black dog comes from his time staying in the hillfoots as a child...

I was at Tullibole a few years ago and 8t was incredibly interesting re the witches. The maze with the stone was poignant. More witch history will come to the channel as time goes on. Glad you're enjoying the stories.

@@scotlandshistory Oh fantastic, did you take the tour of the interior? Rhoderick is a good friend of mine and we have made a number of videos at the Castle. He was laying the wreath at our Rememberance day service last week. I actually use the book he and his wife wrote as a reference for many of our videos 😃 The Annuls of Kinross-shire, wonderful book!

Yes. The tour was just brilliant. What a house, full of history. Although I had passed it many times, I'd never been in it. Glad I rectified that as I would have missed a real hidden gem. I've also just subscribed to your channel :-)

Unfortunately history and time has shown that many women Accused of being witches were in fact nothing of the sort.

Poor woman ,how many thousands of others died because of superstition and gossip about them .RIP to them.

It was a terrible time and a huge injustice to them. At least they're not forgotten.
