The Kingdoms update for Darkest Dungeon II has arrived introducing a brand new full game mode, new enemies, quirks, items and more! We're also checking out the new Inhuman Bondgage DLC which adds the Abomination character and a brand new region, The Catacombs.

Hit Escalation 3. Had all 12 characters, all boosted skills (most boosted stats), veterans in almost all the inns. Yeah, it was tough, but manageable. But...I forgot that flame drain was sped up. Going through the sluice my torch went out and the road fight turned into a Shambler fight with +40% damage and +50% HP. As you might expect a random buffed Shambler fight = TPK. Sigh. DD2 being DD2!

I think, baer is thinking way to complicated about the duelist. She is already effective when you just alternate between disengage and flèche. You can throw a feint into the mix sometimes and you have a similar setup as the highwayman with duelist's advance + point blank shot but more flexible. Or can alternate between feint and meditation (in defensive stance) and have a reposting dodge tank without moving.

You are overcomplicating the duelist, meditation is her best first turn skill in most situations giving you plus dodge tokens and riposte if you got that trinket. Alternatively, you could start with feint to get riposte and switch her stance, then in the next turn use meditation so she can get taunt and have enemies waste their attacks on her while she dodges and riposte. You can also build her to be a fleche bot with preparation, but you need to be careful with her hp. Whatever you do with her depends on the situation/battle you are. Imho, if you aren't using the dodges you are wasting most of her kit.

Does it feel weird to want heroes based on the conscripts now? Arbaleist is a no brainer and I do hope they return but we could get one of the melee fighter

If a stun/daze hits a berserk beastman, causing them to lose their action, does that effectively negate the berserk attack as that's only available for that (stunned enemy) action?

Stun yes since they technically use their turn on a stun and daze doesn't since it just moves their turn to be last.
