I don’t think it’s overpriced it has a Swiss movement the case is beautifully done it has a great deco look to it and has a real quality strap on it although I admit the camel leather look isn’t everyone’s taste although I like it prefer it to the longines dolce vita which is more expensive

Black dial should have had a rectangle small seconds just like the cream dial - a round running seconds dial clashes with the cash shape.

Not a fan of rectangular watches at all but Alpina did a great job with this. I would definitely wear this one especially the black dialed one. The ostrich strap is a great touch.

Can you please confirm that Citizen owns Frederique Constant, which owns Alpina Watches International? Do you know if Alpinas are still manufactured in Geneva? EDIT: It seems that yes: they are made in Geneva, in a fairly new factory which they moved into. And they are "Swiss Made" so at least a certain percentage of the value is made in Switzerland even if some components are made elswhere.

I’m 100% with you that is a shame that Alpina didn’t use an hand wind movement. For such a beautiful vintage inspire piece, I would love to have 2mm less and an hand wind movement. I love so much this watch that, as soon as I saw I thought to buy for the birth of my daughter, but I didn’t in the end because the back is open and i couldn’t engrave it.

The design is nice . 1600 USD for a no date watch with 30 M of water resistance and a basic Sellita movement is a bit steep in my opinion . If they priced this at USD 1100-1200 it would have been more appealing.
