The Amalfi Coast of Sicily, Taormina! // Sicily by Ape Ep. 06

Sicily by Ape Episode 6 - I leave Taormina and head north up the east coast of Sicily eventually visiting the most northeastern tip of the island Punta di Faro before continuing my journey east ending the day in Milazzo. This is a fun episode with yet again more festivals, gotta love Sicily in the spring time. Hope you enjoy and please like the video and subscribe if you haven't already.

I visited Sicily several times between 2001 and 2004. First time for an industrial project in Gela, second time for bidding the ponte over Messina Strait and all the related heavy infrastructure at both sides. I did love it and never came back. 20 years later I am planning to return for a road trip off season, trying to find myself and to meditate what has happened in my life during the last 20 years. I still keep a photograph taken at the electric tower looking towards Regio calabria, one of the two big tower foundations for the cabble suspended bridge was righ there per what I recall.

Great again! Yes Palermo is crazy to drive in, I did it 🤪💪🏻. Taormina is nice, very busy with tourists but has a nice language school there; Babilonia. I studied Italian there in 2018 for 2 weeks. So it feels a bit like home 🥰🌋.. best part of Sicilia is mount Etna

Haha yeah it’s wild in Palermo but I always find it fun, a bit like video game 😂 that’s awesome that you spent time living in Taormina! Like you said touristy but it’s touristy for a reason and there are a lot of hidden gems. Etna is incredible! Really shapes that side of the island
