Finlands labour and delivery looks like one of the calmest places ever to be for giving birth x

And still Finland needs to have more mummies (here is more +60y than 0-12y) :D but well, living in here is so dammmmm expensive that everyone doesn't have money for raising children. If this country would be less expensive, those hospitals would be full of mummies

Taxes are going up etc so yees we need a lot babies but that's not choise for so many cause living is so expensive.. And that's sad; ppl get preggo after 35y bc you need money to raise your child and very many woman wants to have a good career (=lot of money) to that it is possible. Sad but true! when you told your midwife thank you and she said, "you did it." that's when the tears started rolling. it's amazing to see you being so appreciative and thankful for everyone who helped you through the journey, and them acknowledging that it was all you. you grew a whole happy, healthy human. and then you birthed her. she is so lucky to have been born into such a loving home with such wonderful parents and puppers! i am so happy for you, chachi. and so excited to see you handling motherhood. i know you're gonna be amazing.

A midwife plays such a special role. My grandmother, now 94 years old, was a midwife (in Romania) and the women she helped give birth still remember and thank her whenever they see her, 35-40 years later! I will never forget witnessing how one of the women who my grandma helped give birth more than 40 years ago, took my grandma's hands and kissed them when she ran into her on the street while I was with her, saying to her: "Bless these hands that helped me so much!"

jacky o girl where did you give birth because that’s where I want to go. I’ve given birth in Texas and Hawaii and neither was like that! Only 2 options of pain management, epidural or narcotics. Only able to give birth on your back. You could only have 2 people in the delivery room other than the swarm of nurses and the doctor. In a lot of states if you have a home birth and then go to the hospital after they will call CPS on you for neglect. The US is AWFUL compared to the rest of the world and how they handle birth, post natal care and maternity leave. Unless you are bankin and can afford a birth center then you’re at the mercy of the system.

I live in the US. I was very lucky and also did tons of research to find the best providers for myself. For my first baby I had one midwife for the entire pregnancy, and that same midwife was there every second of my labor/delivery. Same with the birth assistant. It was a natural water birth in a birth center, and no one touched me the entire time (that was what I wanted), and I caught my daughter myself. My second time I went with a hospital birth, but still a midwife group. I had a few hospitals to choose from, and I chose the one that has private rooms for everyone, and you stay in the same room the whole time. I had a midwife stay with me the entire time, and a doula (she did it for free because my ex husband had walked out on me when I was 7 months pregnant and we were divorced a month later), and the nurses. I didn’t want any needles of any kind, and I signed a release because I didn’t want any sort of IV or anything. This time, because I had awful SPD, I gave birth on my back, and they caught my baby. It was still a no intervention birth, and I was very happy with the experience. The hospital brought up a delicious steak dinner afterwards, as well as the other meals while I was there. All very healthy and not what you’d associate with hospital food. My third birth (I got remarried to an amazing man) was a birth center water birth again. No one touched me the whole time, no interventions, and I caught my son myself. My first two births were covered by Medicaid, and my last one was self pay, at $2,000.

8:12.. I started crying. Just seeing him support you and hearing you push through... it’s such a beautiful thing. Thank you for sharing this. Seeing this.. just makes me proud to be a woman. The endurance that we go through is amazing... I think now.. when it’s my turn to have children.. I’ll be ready. I may be a sobbing mess 😂😭😭. My fear .. is the epidural. You made it look so easy! Lol. Congratulations again love!! I can’t believe we get to see baby girl grow up with y’all! The pictures at the end were beautiful too. 💕💕😭😭

Omg how simple of an actual delivery like pushing and stuff. No chaos no overly crazy stress or a lot of people. How beautiful❤

Baby, oyu were so incredible and Sophia will love such a loving, safe home to live in with full of attention to her. She will grow to be an independent woman of her own needs, but safely knowing that her parents will always be there for support! -@jukkadudeson
