Thomas and Robby continue their journey west to California. After hiking in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, we headed on the scenic I-70 towards as we drive through the Rocky Mountains. Our eventual destination this time was Dead Horse Point State Park in Moab Utah, but before that we drove on the highest interstate in the country as we drove along I-70 in Denver. Along the way, we stopped in Vail, Colorado and Grand Junction, Colorado. Eventually we were driving next to the Colorado River as lightning in the distant clouds and rain poured around us.

I went to Vail, CO back in the mid 90's to ski for 4-5 days. Worked out for months beforehand, but I still felt like a truck had run over me the morning of the second day. It was better by the forth day. Get that beautiful dog some rough greens. 💕

I feel like any of us that grew up in the 80s or 90s here in Columbus did the COSI/Wendy's tradition. I remember both fondly. I actually work a block away from where old COSI was. the first Wendy's is now an office for the catholic coalition of something or another

Thank You Thomas and Rob for sharing, I came on a Solo trip in Jun 2022, through Colorado, Utah, Interstate 70, I was solo driving and wasn't able to get a lot of footage, this brings back Great Memories on my adventure last summer. I am a New Subscriber, and have just begun to watch Adventure Archives, was hooked after the first time I saw....Peace Out ! Keep Exploring ! If you ever make it up to Mt. Shasta area, I live near by, there area a lot of non-promoted hiking areas, and would be honored to buy you all a beer or two (lol) at the Brewery in Mt Shasta City !

70 between Denver & 15 in UT is the most amazing and beautiful part of the US Highway system. Nothing can top it. Sad it was dark when you came off the Western Ridge, it's an incredible landscape, not much like it. From where you were, taking 191-163-160-89 to Flagstaff is an amazing drive as well, but you need the time to cruise it, you go past Monument Valley.

Goldens have an incredible disposition.. wonderful that you take her with you on your travels… just a thought.. have you looked into some sort of seatbelt tether/ security for her? A lot of info in this out there and the options available.. we love a furry companions!

I think I70 starts right here in Maryland. We’re such a tiny state, we often get overlooked. Always love your original music, but have to admit, enjoyed hearing you rock some Epidemic! Someone said,”when I grow up, I want to be Adventure Archives!”. I’m thinking,”you don’t have to grow up to do that…matter of fact, that would be counterproductive!”. You’re adventures are the best!

LOVE Vail! Spent a few nights there last fall with all the fall colors and it was so amazing. Great vibes. We did it the opposite way doing a big sideways U, Pueblo across Curecanti to Moab and then back using I70 and Vail/RMNP. Southern drive was better than I70.

This looks more like our cross country road trips from NY to CA. We've done 80, 90, 70 and 40 going both ways. The longest I ever drove solo was 12+ hours, 740 miles from NY to Sout Carolina. We did NY to Orlando driving overnight, but my wife and I split the driving. She works nights...

I have to agree with Robby on this one Tan Pants. Make no mistake, through hiking is one of the hardest things someone could ever do and it's not a vacation at all, but through hiking all the way for me. It's starting to get pretty darn real that I leave on the AT from the southern terminus for my AT through hike in Spring of 2023. The people I chose to watch hike this year are summitting Mt. Katahdin and it makes me just a little nervous that I'm up next. Class of 2023. I'm way more excited though. It's taken years to train to hike that sort of daily mileage, acquire the appropriate gear, and save some money to hike.

I used to drive that thing three times a week trick is and what us locals do is when you hit the tunnel you hold your breath If you can hold it for the entire length of the tunnel going normal speed you are pretty good. I lived just down the street from where you guys got gas at the Shell in Fruita and I worked in Denver so I probably literally driven that a thousand times. That whole drive brought back some old memories.

What benefit did you get from holding your breath? I don't know many locals that would admit to that idiocracy. My family lives west of Denver and no one attests to doing that and admits there is a benefit.
