There is many Filipinos In Rome (A lot of Filipina maids to be precise) Italy is like home of the second largest Filipino population in Europe and Rome has the most filipinos in Italy. I'm filipino but from the UK and visit Italy a lot its a great country for visiting.

I ate here on my trip to Europe, My friends and I were tired of bread and pasta... my group of friends being all Filipino heritage, we were craving rice and “real food” lol 😂. In desperation luckily we found this on Google! It’s was God send!

I have been in another Filipino restaurant called 'Sarap' which is also near the Vatican. Place was packed with, of course, Filipinos and surprisingly other tourists of different nationalities as well. I brought an Italian friend with me to have dinner there and i wasn't sure whether he liked it or not. It was 50/50 i'd say LOL

OMG! I ate there several times with sister in laws when we went to Rome and met the owner. Excellent food! Made a connection with the owner coz i grew up in pampanga until i came to the states in my teens. What a gem! We ate there everyday for 5 days. If you ever in Rome, look for the Filipino flag and check out their food.

Thanks for the hint. I live near Toronto and there is a huge Filipino population. There is a really good restaurant called lechon republik. I had their lechon and adobo and the grocery store has that sauce. I'll have to give it a try.

I know many folks think that the souring ingredient for sinigan is only tamarind (added with the pre-bought signigan stock powder) but traditionally it’s souring is from leaves of a native tree grown in the Philippines called ‘kalibangbang’ , many of the native tribes still use it... its got a natural acidic/ citric almost vinegar taste.

Every Region in Philippines have their own typical food way different from the other. In my Region using coconut milk in every dish is common, like for pork, chicken vegetables etc. The best food in Philippines you cannot find in expensive restaurants, but in every Filipino home. 🇵🇭

Excellent! I had Vietnamese food for the first time while traveling in Paris. Although the Italian do not have a diaspora as the French do, it’s lovely that the Vatican offers the same benefit of immigrants linked by a commonality and brought to Rome with a sense of community.
