In this third episode, I leave Kashan heading to Yazd. This video is all about the road trip, but there's some great stop offs on the way!
I’ll visit Abyaneh (ابیانه), the beautiful "Red Village", head off for lunch in Naein (نائین) (Soup Jo and Koobideh) and visit the Jameh Mosque of Naein. Finally I'll head to Meybod (میبد) to see the Shah Abbasi Caravanserai and the beautiful Narin Castle with it's stunning views over the old city.
I also change guides in this episode, going off with Reza who I'll be spending the rest of the trip with. He's a great guy and I highly recommend you get in touch if you're looking for a guide in Iran. Here's his Instagram:
rezahosseini0090
(Sorry Reza that you get kicked in the face by a baby goat again in this video! 🤣)
This is still just the beginning, there’ll be a lot more coming from one of the most fascinating countries I’ve experienced.

PATHS LESS TRAVELED
In the late summer of 2022 I embarked on an epic road trip around Iran, during a time of unrest as protests escalated across the country.
Covering around 6200km over 24 days, I was able to see this incredible country in a way that many are not fortunate enough to see, and to record my experiences in a way that has not been done before.
Safety concerns meant that I had to limit my filming on occasion, and stay well away from any signs of the troubles going on.
However, what I did see was an incredible insight. Some of the most wonderful and welcoming people, incredible history and culture, and mind blowing food.
Paths Less Traveled - Iran is my story of my experiences, put in an in-depth series of Iran travel vlogs.

The green car at 3 mins and 18 seconds is really a Hillman Hunter. First exported from Britain in 1967 in kit form and eventually all the tooling came to Iran in 1978. The Paykan (which means Arrow after the Hillmans other name (The Rootes Arrow) was produced in various forms until 2015 the last model which was a pickup. Rootes off course made Sunbeams , Singers , Hillmans and Commer vans until bought out by Peugeot and re badged as Talbots.

A short visit to Abyaneh, one can't get much from the visit. It would have been excellent if not for the lack of time and to present the true Abyaneh traditions. Your guide unfortunately did not have knowledge about Abyaneh and its history. Still you gave a nice picture of Abyaneh. Thanks

Chris as an Iranian here in Iran, even I don't feel safe! Please be very careful because a Spanish person was caught and they are probably holding him ransom. You look middle-eastern ish to pass but if you are filming with a camera and stuff.. you might arouse feelings of suspicion! That is not to say that I don't appreciate you being here and showing us in an unbiased light but still... these are dangerous times EVEN FOR US! (You might have mentioned this things in your videos but I am commenting before watching the whole video as do most KZbin dwellers. My anxiety got the best of me) Edit: Ok ... I watched the 1st video and I'm glad that you are now safe and out of the country. PHEW ...
