I’m honestly excited about this camera. $6k is a lot but for what it offers now, I can run with this camera for the next 10 years. I’ve held off upgrading from my a7r3 and just when I was ready to pull the trigger on the a7r5 they show me this 😅. This definitely opens the doors of creativity for everything that I do.

I don't think you'll be able to run the A9iii for 10 years. the image quality of it will take a hit, there is no way around it atm. so the next iteration will be a better camera. iso 250 sounds not a huge deal, but it kind of is.. As far as high speed sync getting a leaf shutter camera for the same money will give you a much better image quality and you can shoot iso 50.

You still need to consider flash duration, right? You can't push your shutter faster than the flash duration otherwise you wont get the light output you expect. In the example that was shown the flash looked underexposed. Do any flashes exist that can push out full power bursts at such fast shutter speeds?

Would this mean I can overpower the sun with a speedlite in mid day sun with shutter speeds of 1/80,000 shooting wide open at 1.2 or 1.4? I wonder how this will affect the flash companies in the far future that make those big 600w lights like the AD600.

you mightbe use speedlite at 1/1 1/2 1/4 full power. end up overheat toosoon. AD200 maybe good to go.

I think the problem would be the flashes do to flash duration, so its not as black and white as it seams

Nope. Way too much money for the feature. I can think of a lot better ways to spend $6K

true... hopefully canon and nikon release theirs and we can see the tech trickle down to cheaper bodies that we can justify buying
