How about a video on the short career of Steve Mellor (Spider-Ham creator) most of his work was in Crazy magazine and those backups in Spider-Ham. I think all of it is collected in graphic novel format now.

It’s so easy to overlook just how hilariously funny Mike Mignola can be! And how, from the sound of it a lot of times the genesis of the stories started out as done on the fly! Whatta legend!!!

Great video on a masterpiece! I was lucky enough to host a signing and q+a with Mike right before the pandemic and he was adamant that Screw-On Head was the one book we had to have available for the event and he repeatedly said it was his favorite work he’s ever done.

My favorite! I remember introducing my son to this (a bit too young)… fast forward 15 years and it’s also his fav!!

6:24 - I’ve always believed that with those shoulder joints and swivel bicep, the model’s gotta be a 12 G.I. Joe doll. Simply astounding artist edition. Thanks, guys.

Incredible. Literally just read this for the second time. I think of everything Mignola has done, this and Hellboy in hell are certainly at the time. Shout outs to Hellboy conquer worm

Along with Hellboy in Hell, ‘Screw On Head’ and his ‘Curious Objects’ universe tales is Mignola at his absolute best. Pure joy and 100-proof art fuel. Thank you for making my day with this analysis, gents!

I think that one story in the middle you didn’t recognize is Abu Gung (a take on Jack and the Beanstalk). IIRC it was originally printed in Dark Horse Presents.

Correction, it first appeared in Scatterbrain.

I picked up the one shot and later the HC collection! Especially love looking at art in stark black and white! Frazetta influence definitely shows up on a Wolverine one shot, writing by Walter Simonson, that takes place in the Savage land! The cover has a really nice Frazetta vibe! That’s a book I’d like to see in black and white artist edition! Color some times can bury the ink lines! By the way Hellboy turns 30 this month! What a ride! Keep reading and making comix! ❤️🎯⚡️👍👋
