There are many waterfalls in Laguna, just about 3 hours drive from Manila.

Earthquake destroyed the path on the side of the mountain. I was staying in Valencia a few years back it had been like that already. Negotiating the rocks on the river bed wasn't fun with flip flops. The other thing I learned from the guy who took me down there, when it starts raining, it's best to get the hell out of there because the waterfalls can generate flash floods very quickly. A year before that, 40 people died in Valencia downstream. My land lady also advised me to take someone, a guide with me. One of her guests, injured a leg or an ankle trying to hop, skip over the rocks. Fun, fun fun. :-)

Cebu's small rivers ans streams haven't been flooded because Cebu's highlands/mountains where these rivers flow are densely forested. Chasing waterfalls in Cebu is just half the fun as you trek through lush jungle. The other half is the rivers waterfalls themselves which have turquoise waters.

Next time you visit Cebu, take 2-3 days of waterfalls chasing in Southern Cebu. There are more than 60-70 waterfalls found in that part of Cebu. Just Google them and learn how to access them and make your plan. Many of them require a few minutes of trekking but always rewarding. Cebu has more than 110 waterfalls all over the island, making it the only place in the Philippines with the most waterfalls in one province. All of them are not too far from the civilisation and all are turquoise green. Only in Cebu where waterfalls have Gatorade color and clean as well as swimmable.

I'm impressed you figured out the jeepneys. But yeah, the path was destroyed by the massive earthquake a few years back (which also destroyed some centuries-old churches in Bohol).

Google map is quite helpful. Many tourists are confused as to how to get a jeepney in Cebu. Actually, if you use a Google map, it would be very easy. On the Google map, type your destination on the text box located on the upper left panel and click directions. On the 'starting point' either type the name of your current location or place your cursor right on the street nearest your current location (like where you stay) on the map. All available travel modes (like driving, transit, walking, bike) will appear on the left panel along with corresponding estimated time of travel, from shortest to longest route. Clicking on 'transit' mode will show you available public transit options, jeepney in the case for Cebu. In some cases, depending on your destination, there may be more than one options in taking a jeepney. For example, if you want to go to Golden Peak Hotel from your location near Crown Regency Hotel near Fuente Circle, you have 3 ways to get there on no less than 3 jeepney routes.
