Hobestly after selling on Amazon for a few years and the average cost of PPC advertising its besr to build a brand with Social Media, KZbin and Shopify before Amazon!

Thanks Dan, good one! I think that another mistake should be mentioned, and it is about the Budget! It should never be underestimated, especially the marketing Budget to launch the listing for the first time!

Sorry but you are putting your eggs in one basket . You should have as many products as you can , imagine Amazon put down your one and only one product listing!!!

Hi Dan, Thanks for the very useful video. I got 2 questions 1) I agree very much on actual sales volume is a more important indicator. But how/where do I get the Amazon estimated sales volume of product. 2) Do not over order for the 1st order, if the sale is good, then scale up. And how to judge the sale is good? Example : I order 100 units for the 1st order. They are all sold in 1 month, but PPC cost eats up all my profit. I am losing money. I know this is normal because I need to spend certain amount of money on PPC to build up Organic rank. I would say I should order more because even PPC eats up all my profit, but the sales is good. I am selling 3 units/day. I will be able to break even and make profit soon. Is the judgment correct? Sorry for the long questions. Thank you

Can you please cover products that are superrr trendy with GenZ's and sell well in retail but not on amazon yet? Can be sourced to sell on amazon for cheaper than in stores and more accessible for them. But i get scared bc there isn't much data around it in helium and other platforms yet.

thanks for the content. I made the mistake of ordering too many products that don't sale well. but still thanks to God. inshaAllah, my second product will be a huge success.

Thank you for sharing. I'd like to drop a slow like. I'd love to work in the eco-friendly field, I'd like to sell products but still not much impact on the environment, do you have any suggestions for this? Are you planning to make a video about this?

Analysis paralysis on my first product couple of years ago however i did end up making that product work and while everybody told me i should quit that product I decided to stick with it as i believed in its potential based on news etc. and one year later that product became a $40,000 a month product with 23% after ppc profit. Have I moved on it faster in the beginning I wouldnt have to struggle so much due to increased competition for the first year

I've made almost all these mistakes especially mistake 1 and 2. I thought i was safe in a smaller market so i could dominate it but you don't dominate anything when there are no consequent sales. Thank you. Great work like always

Another great video! I am just starting this business and videos like this one helps a lot. However, I just did mistake #6 since ai need it some modifications on the product the supplier told me that I needed to order a 1000 pieces😪
@DanRodgers2 жыл бұрын
1,000 is not the worst Paula, especially for the US market, although 500 - 750 can be a more comfortable range. It may surprise you, particularly in Q4. Some products that are unique simply will require higher MOQs so you're not alone but it's always worth trying to keep quanities low while you prove the concept.

HElp! I am waiting for samples for my first product as we speak. I put 50% down on 1,000units. This would be my first order ever in PL. Should i ask them to cancel my order unless they lower my quantity? My product will be gift-able / Fall decor / Holiday (halloween/thanskgiving/christmas/winter) perfect / Stocking stuffer item. 330 units in 3 different colors. The only issue is that it won't arrive until late October. $8 landed and will sell for $22. Any thoughts!? Im scared i might be making a mistake, but i know it will sell well.
@DanRodgers2 жыл бұрын
Hey Elizabeth, my honest thoughts based on your notes: - 1,000 is the absolute max on a first order for me but I am less concerned with this as you are going into Q4 with a giftable/christmas product - More concerned that the margins will be thin. This happens at lower sell prices but often eases above a $35 sell price: Landed $8 and I am guessing your Amazon Fees (FBA fee is like $4 and referral is $3.30) = $7.30. $22 - $8 - $7.30 = 6.70 (30.5% margin) I recommend aiming for a 40% margin because you also need to consider the cost of PPC ads. If it's not too competitive on ads, then it may end up profitable but again I don't know enough for a full analysis. Wishing you luck with whatever you choose to do :)

@@DanRodgers Extremely valuable feedback. Thank you so much for taking the time to give it! I'll look into the 40% margin. TY!!!
