Appreciate the relaxing video. Thank you Russel. And a thumbs up to the cameo of bumblebee. :)

THAT was FANTASTIC!!! Russel you just did the greatest tour of the Rock EVER!! I really enjoyed the photography on this one. Loved the water close ups too. The snow blowing out of the trees was magnificent. WOW, that was all good. I think I strained my weasel with all that walking but it was worth it!! I'm impressed, and I enjoyed it VERY much. Thank you.

Yeah! A full tote of water!! Cool shots of the snow/rain coming out of the trees across the pond.

SPRING: Time for a heart-to- heart talk with your neighbor about the trail. If it were myself, I would simply say: I would like you to agree that I can improve the trail I use to access my property, in a way approved by "x authorities" and at my cost." If she/he says no: legal advice as to legal action. Generally if property is land locked local laws provide relief. You are getting older and access is crucial. Why continue unless you need KZbin content of a lousy situation?
@garyfairbrother553210 ай бұрын
The fact that the trail is rugged and has a learning curve that those that live there have mastered, with admittedly a few seasonal difficulties, makes it intimidating to outsiders. It’s a deterrent against non-resident hunters, cabin thieves and KZbin lookie-loos the way it is, and if I lived at Raspberry Rock and valued my privacy, it is just the way I’d want to keep it. It would be the moat around my backwoods castle.
@ernie706510 ай бұрын
@garyfairbrother5532 Very logical; for a healthy man of 40. Seems not prudent for an older person with health issues, or for his lady taking care of him. Plus, with camera technology he can record and see any area of his property from anywhere else.
@garyfairbrother553210 ай бұрын
@@ernie7065But what can a 40 year old with health problems do when he finds trespasser’s on his property through a high tech surveillance camera? i can’t think of a more dangerous situation than an angry land owner with a gun confronting a beligerant trespassing hunter with a gun. I think it’s much better to not invite them in with a nice groomed “let’s see where that goes” trail. Everyone who lives off grid has to realize that they no longer have quick response fire, disaster or law enforcement protection and must be pro active in making their domain as self reliant as possible. Popular KZbinrs get a lot of stalkers and uninvited drop ins so not laying out a welcome mat is a pretty good passive safety feature. And don’t tell me no one knows where he is in this day and age with Google satellite and all the clues that town videos provide. Besides he’s agreed in previous videos that improving the trail with bridges and clearing is not desirable for the reasons I’ve stated. You are not the first to bring up the subject.

Beautiful video! It was fun! And nice to see both of you all healthy again. I finally succumbed to what you and my family, especially my son, have/had. Some crazy (vicious!) virus (not covid, not flu) that has the cough from hell and will not let us go. This is a first for me in many years. But I let myself get too low sunshine D. (That makes a big diff in one's health and immunity.) (And also apparently this is a something I've never had before, hence not much immunity.) Meanwhile, watching you walk around in that lovely scenery, in all the sunshine made me so envious. Now if only some billionaire would take pity on you and build you a real road + bridges... and you and Ray could invent a clever machine that attracts all bugs which get sucked into it and squished into recycleable bug goop... not to mention, you could have all the amenities you desire quickly added to your cabin, including your own little airport with helicopter for frequent trips to town... 'twould make for a super happy you and CG. I could wish for it, anyway. lol

What a cold start to the video, then the sun came out then it was cold again. Strange weather your having at Raspberry Rock but at least your pond is full and so is the water jug nest to the porch looks like your all set to begin spring. I really enjoy being with you each Friday, it looks a lot different there than it does here in Kansas. Enjoy yourself. MC.

Hello Russell. I really enjoy watching your videos. I live in Redbank New Jersey and if you ever wander around these parts I would love to take you and city girl out for a great lunch or dinner. That being said I'm well trained in building and can offer you help in replacing your steps up to the cabin. It looks like there very steep and that takes its toll on the knees after a while. Its great following you along all these years and keep up the great work.

Do you think you will ever put in a second tote? Seems like you could have easily collected more water. I loved it when Willow paused, glanced at the geese, and then decided, nope...just carry on and leave them alone. 😂 And I love how she takes the path of least distance to get back to the cabin. 🖤 No pea soup goodbye? Well, the video was magical, so no goodbye greeting was necessary. Have a great weekend!

I liked the idea of getting a pump and hose with filters to option water from the pond. Not for drinking, but with a Lifesaver Can you could use it for that as well.

Many have committed about this to help with safety, as wooden steps covered with snow are very slippery, but Russel being Russel will put up a railing when slips and falls and hurts his back. Being isolated he must have a stockpile of meds, as it would be a painfully ride out. But then he could slip anywhere due to the terrain. Rule of thumb. When alone, take your time, never rush.
