Thank you for another groovy video, Fred! I was 15 in summer of 1965 and living in Toronto. I would often sneak out of the house at night with my friends and go down to Yorkville, which was like Greenwich village in New York at the time. You had hippies and beatniks all over the streets and several coffee shops with different singers and bands performing. I would often come home to an angry, screaming mother saying “I brought you into this world, and I can take you out,” but it was all worth it. The ‘60s were wild but I wouldn’t trade living in that time for anything.

The late Susan Bernard of "Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" was always one of my very favorite Playboy Playmates. She had that "girl next door" look that very few post-1980s Playmates even approached. Another video from before my time, though I grew up loving a lot of culture from the sixties partially thanks to my mom's influence who would always keep the oldies radio station on when we were in the car. When I was in high school in the eighties, while everyone else was into The Cure, Depeche Mode and The Smiths, all whom I later got into, I was into The Beatles, The Beach Boys and The Monkees. So much great stuff from this decade. Fun to see the trailer for Help!. I always wished I could have been alive when The Beatles were still together, as I was born the year they broke up. It just seems like it would have been so amazing to be alive when all that music was coming out. I envy those of you who were. I mean, don't get me wrong, as a huge Beatles fan, I was very excited when the 3 of them reunited to work on John's demos and make them into full songs, that was thrilling to me, but obviously still couldn't compare to hearing them all together as a group when they were originally touring and recording music together. Such transformative times. Also great to hear one of the great classic Beach Boys songs. Of course, I'm talking about The Monkey's Uncle. Just kidding, but thanks for including that one, as I've never seen the movie before, though I do have the original 45 of the song. It's funny watching Mike Love on screen right just kind of dancing around because when he's not singing lead, and he doesn't have a tambourine or something to play, he's kind of got nothing to do. It just seems like It must have felt kind of awkward for him filming that. But of course, the real Beach Boys classic is California Girls, the song with one of the greatest instrumental introductions in pop history, deceptively simple, but such a great arrangement. At least The Beach Boys have still been together as I've been alive, though they had produced much of their classic stuff before I was born, and I was too young to appreciate albums like Surf's Up or Sunflower when they came out, though I do now. Anyway, thanks for another fun one, Fred!

To Sir Fred: Your choice and balance on how to tell the story of each month (in a short video), through music, the other pop culture highlights (and ordinary day to day things), the serious matters of public concern and interest and just the way of how, everyone experienced the world at the time, is more than seriously impressive, its bloody fantastic! From a pop culture point of view, I think this is the peak of the mountain (Stones' "Satisfaction", anything Beatleific is 12/10, "California Girls", Iprcess File with Sir Michael Caine, flicks with Julie Christie and Joy Harmon! this 1 month tops the past 20 years in pop culture!!!). Thangs again for another eFFing FFantastic video!

Interesting to see Disney make use of the popular rock aesthetic in one of their movies. Thuse Russ Meyer films were considered so risque back in the day. I thought the lead singer for the Ronettes had a thoroughly mediocre voice--thin and flat. Helps to be sleeping with the record producer. I wish Bobby Darin had been healthier. He was so talented.
