Great … of course! Fun one. My family jumped on the Betamax bandwagon soon after this … with Dad being a media person he couldn’t wait. lol. People today have no idea what a revolution the home video machines really were. Suddenly you could record and own full feature length movies - an idea well beyond the hopes of average people prior to the home video age. In fact, one of the first things we recorded was a tape of CPO Sharkey episodes! Pre-recorded movies weren’t really a thing then - you had to buy blank cassettes which were quite expensive. Interesting time. LOL at your sentiments regarding “You Light Up My Life.” Ha! Good Lord I thought they’d never stop playing that - that it would be a permanent fixture on radio for all eternity! PS: I miss the days of specials like Charlie Brown Thanksgiving airing on regular commercial television.

Nice job, Fred! I remember watching 2 of these shows: Brothers Grimm (Chita Rivera was the Hansel/Gretel witch shoved into her own oven) and the M3S/PF Special. It was weird having those 2 shows pulled together. I guess MacMurray had to be there for the whole show rather than his usual 1/4 of the time (which he did filming M3S). I thought the sketch where Steve & Barbara were turned into hippies was weird. PF didn't get as much of the time during the show, I figured, since M3S ran 3x as long, but Shirley Jones & David Cassidy both got solo numbers. Watching it again on YT a couple years ago, I noticed that Suzanne Crough (Tracy P.) only appeared briefly. She wasn't around for the finale. I also remember watching SUPERSTUNT, but it was probably a rerun, as I don't remember seeing it until early 1979.
