Great to see someone who gets as excited and is as fascinated by abandoned places, to which we have a personal historic connection, as I do.

So sad, it breaks my heart to see it like this. I worked there for the first three seasons and helped to get it ready for opening in 1987.

One of the boats from the log flume still exists today. It was turned into a pond and sits on a front garden in Alfreton Derbyshire. Rumour has it and this is pure speculation that a man who owns the boat use to work at the park.

It is shocking. I used to go to riding stables in Shipley park which was included in the Britannia park/ American adventure and where the horses in the Wild West show were stabled. I used to ride around the lake and saw dragonflies and windsurfers and a park ranger used to watch a barrier and raise it for us to access the riding school. Glad you went back here, this place should never have been built as it was never a half decent theme park unlike Alton Towers. I lived and worked in Kimberley and we often had tickets on our counter giving a discount which was the only time we used to go. We found we could walk around the lake a dozen times in a day and were so bored. I'm disgusted the trees have been bulldozed. Such a heartbreaking shame. Suppose now it's a brownfield site it will become housing. Very sad.

It’s trespassing, but in the UK that’s not illegal as it’s only a civil law. Unfortunately the site is a building site now so isn’t much point as everything has gone :/
