So many great things about the 80’s. Music, film , TV But what was also great was it being the last decade where all these older classic movie stars were still alive.

Billy Wilder is a legend . Imagine not knowing english and then becoming a master of it - sheer brilliance and hard work . Great to see all the legends of Hollywood assembled to pay tribute to the master .

What an incredible human being and what talent he brought to America. Great body of work. He saw what was going to happen in the future and we are living it now and now Hollywood is apart of the destination of entertainment. I got sick to my stomach to see the younger ones in audience that are apart of us losing great talent. He definitely was a intelligent man and saw what was going on. He knows about fascism and communist, that's why he came to America for freedom and prosperity, he knows what this nation was headed for. Hollywood today is dying off.

I love Audrey Young's glance to Billy, when he gave Audrey Hepburn a standing ovation. 😂

Jessica Lange was showing the finale of the “Sunset Boulevard”. C’mon, Jessica, didn’t you read Gloria Swanson’s autobiography? She said after the movie was over, she had a big party; yes, Holden was included too. 😊

It was on KZbin a while back but has vanished again...Loved Orson Welles' description of his pal, Huston as an 'amiable Dracula' on that broadcast...

Hi Could you please Upload the Gregory peck AFI if you have ?
Well... A few years ago, I was looking for Kenneth Brownlow"s "Hollywood: A Celebration of the American Silent Film" and I got in touch with a man leaving in Florida who has an amazing catalogue of many things coming from different sources, including several AFI celebrations (I had already a few things on my side with commercial VHS cassettes and recordings that I did myself most of the time when the people passed away). I know it is surprising that a little Frenchman seems to be the only person uploading things having to do with US patrimony! Of course the AFI should do it, but I guess they have problems with the copyrights on all the material shown in this salutes, limit that I ignore, the only censorship coming from KZbin with just a few seconds I had to eliminate here and there.
