Lexington, Concord, Bunker Hill, Trenton... battles you've heard of, but did you know there were a LOT more battles in the southern colonies than in the north? This presentation will give you a broad introduction to the war in the south, and our host Glen Kyle will do his best to convince you that this theatre is not only the most significant but the most interesting!

I grew up not 15 miles from 96 south carolina and was six at bicentennial year. I don't recall being taught or hearing any of this. I love history and am thankful for these talks

I often see historians pass over or diminish the relevance of the battle and victory of Kings Mountain. I'm glad to see it wasn't brushed over in this discussion.

Marion was a very civil military leader especially by the standards of the day. He never burned houses or executed prisoners. Sometimes men under his indirect command did but we have letters where Marion strongly chastised that behavior. Even though he was a continetal officer his men were milita and he had very limited control over what they did. There were a lot of brutal acts on both sides but Marion absolutely belongs on a pedestal. A very patient man, brilliant tactician who was under appreciated at the time. Sumter on the other hand while deserving of credit for keeping the cause alive often engaged in burning and looting for personal gain while also losing most of his engagements.

Do you have a video of the Pennsylvania Rifle Regiments during the American Revolution? If you don't, can you do one about them?
