It was good to see my old friend Vannessa here.always enjoyed my time with her and my friends at the Rock Corner. She has not changed a bit. mind you the last time I saw her was a little over 20 years ago. This brought back many memories.

Schweinfurt is where I "Grew Up", it was my first and third duty station it is where I met my wife, it is where my daughter Danielle was born, it is where I deployed to Kosovo from, it is where I went off to war 2 times, It is where I became a Tanker. This City helped form me. It is my Home, but not my home. I miss it.

This brought back some very good memories of my stay in West Germany. This was sad but understanding as things change in the world demographics. I sure will miss my German friends and wish them the very best. Thank you for being so good to us!

I would have loved to be stationed in Germany, there is so much for an american to learn about the culture, literature and all the great food. Germans are wonderful, warm people, it would have been very nice to form a community with all of them. Thank You Germany for being kind to our "boys"

This video brought back so many memories of places I used to frequent. For some reason the name Frau Hess popped into my mind. She was the introductory German instructor who tried to teach us basic Deutch. I already knew most of what she was trying to teach, but it was a great refresher. It's sad to see the closing of my old Kaserne, but hopefully it paves the way for new things. I don't think I appreciated those days I spent in Schweinfurt as much as I should have. And I wish I had taken more pictures.

I was stationed at Ledward Barracks, from 73 through 74. I too, did not appreciate my time there. Now I wish I could go back, and revisit old friends...

Sad to see it go. Even though it was just a few years ago it feels like a different lifetime

As much as I love my home in the US, Schweinfurt will always be my home. After all I am German but I am sure gonna miss the Americans when I move back to Germany next year.
