So does the author. The planes were not on deck at 1020 except for one zero from the CAP. The planes were on the hanger decks. Yes 5 minutes with the planes below decks with oxygen torpedoes on them and bombs on the others and fuel in all of them.

It’s a robo voice delivering the diary of a Japanese officer. He says the Americans deliberately timed their attack for when the carriers would be refuelling aircraft. That’s completely untrue. The air craft had land attack munitions on board. Rather than simply using them, the admiral demanded they were swapped for torpedoes. A job they took considerable time.

But that’s the whole point of this channel, don’t you see? Take somebody else’s content that’s now in the public domain after so many decades, so you don’t have to create the content. Then post it up on KZbin for audio consumers using an AI voice, so you don’t have to reproduce the content either. Every single thing is done for you, and you can legally call it “value added” and make cash off the ad revenue. It’s a genius format, and as soon as the first channel popped up I started noticing 3 others within a few weeks. They all have around 50k subscribers now and growing rapidly. The idea is totally brilliant. But if you’re looking for somebody to read these stories aloud, that’s tens of hours of work. The whole point of this content is that it can be done almost instantly so you can grow your content exponentially and keep old listeners coming back while new ones discover the channel and subscribe. This wouldn’t work economically if somebody had to sit down and read every word of every book. The whole reason this model works is that the AI, even though it’s shoddy and annoying, is good enough that you can forget it’s not a human long enough to enjoy the stories anyway. It’s totally brilliant and devious and evil.

This sounds like the Fuchida narration. In the more definitive history (Shattered Sword) of these events John Parshall and Tully proved through aircraft movement records that the planes mentioned were still in the hangar deck. They were probably an hour away from being launched.

So may words are seriously mispronounced. Often the same word such as Admiral Nagumo's name is pronounced correctly in one sentence and then mispronounced shortly thereafter in a another sentence. The same occurred with some of the names of the carriers and then some common words of the English language.@@WW2Stories1

text to speech conversion depends on accurate text. Clearly, in this case, the text contains numerous misspellings. On the matter of whether there were planes spotted for launch on deck, I will take the testimony of an eye witness on the spot as against that of a pilot, possibly distracted by trying to ine his plane up on target, keeping track of altitude, and a half mile above the carrier.

"The BOW" of the ship? Like "Bow" and arrow? NO. Like "When the "bough" breaks...." is the correct pronunciation. Also the "Forecastle" of the ship is the deck at the ships front or Bow (Bough). It is pronounced, "Folks-sul". Not everybody is a seaman. The old saying for exclamation; "Well, shiver me timbers", originated in the days of wooden ships to express the condition when a cannon ball hit a ship's mast and blew it into splinters (shivers) of wood. Just fun stuff.
