Excellent episode Sir. The battle was equally confusing for both sides. Neither side was in a position to fight a second day. They both retreated in a chaotic manner which was characteristic of the opening period of the war. Neither side was prepared for the war, no one ever is. It takes heart to just hold the line so that you can give your nation the time to equip, train, and project the force’s necessary to fight. The active duty services make overwhelming sacrifices to ensure the nation has the means to defend itself. Semper Fi my fellow Warriors.

I love the stories. Ai is forgivable. My grandfather was a ensign in task force 17. He never really talked about anything he saw or did in the pacific. He received 2 purple hearts, lost a lung and hearing in his left ear during the war. He went to Hiroshima after the bombing and was there for the Japanese surrender. He never had anything bad to about the Japanese. He just said they had a job to do and we had ours. He was at Iwo, Okinawa and saipan and many other battles. He started out on a destroyer then went to a lst. I wish I would have took down his accounts of his service before he passed.

Daddy was a paratrooper Africa, Sisily and hit by a German 88 in Italy. He said the Germans were good soldiers and fine men. Hitler was the idiot and wasn't even a true German.

this has been a great series and I've enjoyed very much. Father in law was aircraft mechanic on the Enterprise but rarely talked about the war.

Another superb historical video. By the way, "total supremacy" is redundant. Supremacy, itself, is a condition. No modifier is needed. It's a little like saying, "totally complete."
