At this point of the war the American 🇺🇸 military destroyed all of the shiny new Ships and Aircraft. What little the Japanese military had left looked like it was from Goodwill. Old ragged out Planes ✈️ and Rusty old leaking Ships.

I've been enjoying your videos - thanks. I have a suggestion for this one: change the last word of the title from "boats" to "attacks" since the video (11:30) talks about both.

As good and detailed as this mans writing is, its scary to detect an unwillingness to accept what the Nazis did and who they were underneath of it all. He seems searching for excuses. Mentioning how he could finally see/talk about atrocities committed by Allied troops as well as pinning the blame for everything on unfair peace treaties. While the treaties may have been unfair, thats no excuse for what the Nazis did, and who they became. And, yes, allied soldiers did do horrible things too - but why were they there in the 1st place? Why were they thrust into a situation in which they could become monsters?

The Japanese military seemed proud their last ship took longer to sink than the others. What the nimble Japanese brass didn’t know was the United States was conducting a naval exercise. The idea was to use a new weapon when Shot it makes smaller holes but many more in the Ships Hull area. The results desired were affirmative. After a battle the Japanese Captain thinks they are fine so they head back to their base. Once they make it about 10 miles out in the Ocean the Ship Suddenly Sinks Fast to the Bottom of the Sea. They have no warning, at the snap of one’s Fingers the ship rapidly sinks. The side effects were it boosted the Morale of the Sailors as they could watch film footage of their work.

Enjoying your 'audio books'. Thank you. Perhaps I am missing some setting but when I choose 'all videos' in a playlist they want to run backwards, from last to first. Is there any cure for this? ( I'm using You Tube Premium.)

When I was police dispatcher in a small Arizona town, we would occasionally have ex German POWs stop by asking where to find the prison camp that used to be near the edge of town. We had to explain to them it was now a housing subdivision and long gone. They'd usually stay for a bit, and tell us stories of the war and life in the prison camp. They often said that they were surprised at how well they were treated, by both the guards, and the civilians living near the camps, and grateful for the chance to work outside the camp and get some fresh air and exercise. Another common theme was giving up any thoughts of escape by the time they arrived, especially after crossing the 1940's AZ desert! We heard some funny stories, and some horrendous ones, but it was always interesting.

Interesting video as the Japanese talking about the brand new war planes. No planes, so sensibly a New Year intervened with a family visit. Till the war intervened again and no brand new planes. Just new old planes. The ship in the above picture, she an ugly ship, a battlecruiser turned into aircraft carrier. But they did the job.

I’m still looking for records of long distant cousins in Volhynia (NW Ukraine), Kamień Krajeński (Kamin) area, and Trzebiatów (Treptow) area NE of Stargard. My direct ancestors came the North America in the 1800s, but several of their siblings stayed back. I’ve found only 2 that made it out after Ww1 and WW2. Every year, more records are digitized. DNA testing has found a few distant cousins that connected a branch that made it to Canada after ww2.

WW2 Tales is offering 8 out of 10 parts of 'For That One Day: The Memoirs of Mitsuo Fuchida, the Commander of the Attack on Pearl Harbor.' The links for parts 8 and 9 don't work. Fuchida's memoirs were "discovered" in 2007 in his son's basement library in New Jersey. Fuchida was a Japanese version of Forrest Gump, everywhere in the Pacific Theater of World War II. He led the attack on Pearl Harbor, was on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier blown up at Midway, visited Hiroshima the day after being devastated by an atomic bomb, miraculously with no ill effects of radiation, being protected by the hand of Jesus. You name it. An entertaining piece of historical fiction, but too bad WW2 Tales has omitted a couple hours of the audio book.

After the Americans blew up and gunned down the quality aircraft and ships of the Japanese military, things continued to Spiral out of control for the Japanese. What they had available to fight the war with looked like it was from Goodwill.

Very nice audio book version of 'The Battle for Okinawa: A Japanese Officer's Eyewitness Account of the Last Great Campaign of World War II' by Colonel Hiromichi Yahara. I read the official U.S. Army history of the Okinawa Campaign many years ago. That history was written shortly after the end of WW2 and of course it is strictly from an American perspective. It is nice to hear the same battle from the perspective of a senior Japanese officer who was there. His account is very matter of fact including the good, the bad, the ugly, and the nightmarishly hideous.

My Father was in a Nebelwerfer Unit. After being mauled by russian troops they have to fight as infantry. In 1945 they have 2 options: surrender to russian troops or swim across the ice cold river elbe and try british captivity. They swim and 60% of his unit did not make it. When he told me that his tears are running. After 70 years of peace this was still present. War is the biggest shit on earth.

I enjoy some of your other videos but not this one. I hung in there for almost an hour before bailing and it was a wasted hour. I know it would have taken a lot of work but without adding maps at relevant times this is just a blur of lists and details that are impossible to retain, visualize or put into any sort of context.

It’s a story so many more need to hear…. We truly stand on the shoulders of giants. I feel honored to have lived in a time when you could still meet and speak with these legends. Generation X now must carry the torch to learn and share this history. It’s unimaginable their bravery and love for the US…. There is nothing like the love Americans have for their freedom, their country and our sacrifices. It’s both humbling and beautiful 😢🇺🇸🫡

These are great videos to listen to while working. But you should contact KZbin. The commercials outweigh the video time. I timed a few and found for every 2.5 - 3.0 minutes of video they insert around 3.0 - 4.0 minutes of commercials. Sorry, but I had to leave. I got very annoyed listening to how many thousands of dollars I could make with little or no effort. It took away from the story of brave men who made no money with tremendous effort.
