They have FX in prisons? See, country clubs. Let's slash the budget for that, etc. Here in the UK, they recently tried to ban guitars from prisons. Not on any health and safety grounds. No, just to make prison even more punitive.

i loved it, too❤️one night watching it during the first season i said, ‘He ad-ores her!’ (meaning Phillip, of course), and then i found out-and i said, ‘he really DOES adore her!’👉🏾i just thought that had it been called, ‘The Soviets’, more people might’ve been curious enough to tune in and find out wtf it was all about.
@dark2023-1lovesoni Жыл бұрын
@rogerwaters580 when prisons get too punitive they wind up just encouraging minor criminals to go out in a blaze rather than be captured. We've seen this in the US, where our prisons are now only about forced labor, then they took away the ability to earn a degree while incarcerated, and now with minimum mandatory sentences and the 3 strike policy it's gotten bad. Folks who are back out after their second stint are practically unemployable in the normal job market and have earned skills and contacts from their previous stints. So they're practically forced into becoming career criminals. Since they know if they get caught again they'll be screwed anyway they usually decide "in for a penny, in for a pound" and then when they DO get caught they'd rather run &/or shoot it out instead of go back.

Whenever I watch this scene I always wonder how they managed to find an Oldsmobile Omega in such nice shape. The prop master for this show has talked about just how hard it was to find cars for these scenes, because the producers specifically wanted nondescript cars, which aren't the kind of cars people typically preserve.

To some degree I don't think there is one, which is kind of a shame since it's such a thematic track. You could argue that the shifting and impermanent alliances between countries and movements that, for instance, brings Russia together with the South Africans, parallels the ups and downs of the relationships of the band. In another part of the episode Philip is talking with the South African guy and he talks about how he's passing his mission on to his sons - but of course it's a life of hardship and burning people to death. So that also touches on the idea of familial yet fractured bonds, sort of?

Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Revelation 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; *and every eye shall see him,* and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen Isaiah 44:6 (God speaking) Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. Revelation 1:8 (Jesus speaking) I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, *the Almighty.* Revelation 22:13 (Jesus speaking) I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. --- There Are None Righteous Romans 3:10 & 23 10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Luke 5:31-32 (Jesus speaking) 31 And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. 32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. 1 Peter 3:18 (The word “quicken” means “to make alive”) For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Ephesians 2:8-9 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
