I certainly miss the old school sailing, sail handling, and slower boat tactics. New foiling is unique and fast but has long term appeal. Don't think it will last.

Spot on comment, sir. The common sailing enthusiast, like me, can but concur.

Well considering the AC75 is booked into AC37 it might last longer than you hope

Pfft. Have you seen what's happening in foiling racing? Foiling is ultimate sailing.

I get why the Scuba Cam was dangerous to the diver, but I’m surprised we haven’t seen anyone experiment with remote-controlled cameras on the marker buoys themselves in more recent editions.

For sure - it could have been a great shot of the keels going through the water.

Loved these boats. The new boars are.exciting fast and can fly but these boats they had to be real sailors. The sail changes with the big spinnakers were awesome.

I simply can not agree with the "real sailors" statement. Today's sailors are equally at the top of their game, perhaps even more so than ever before. But I can agree that I liked the older boats and proper tacking duels more.

1992. These were good sailing rules where you could luff hard and attack the other boat. At the start you circled. Watching the 20007 addition the circling has disappeared and has been replaced by the "Dial up" Does anyone know when or why the "dial up" started? Was it rule changes?

48:08 why the scuba diver didn't take videos from underwater? What's the point in have him in water if he takes a surfaces shot?

It is amazing how far the America's cup has come. There were some pretty poor drops in this cup.

As great a sailor Gary Jobson is it is amazing how lousy a commentator he is at the same time. I just rewatched the 1987 Cup from Fremantle on Australian TV and the commentary was ten times better than this.

In the Cup race between Dennis' cat and Fay's monohull, Jobson made an analysis on relative boat speeds and skipper strategy--which was then completely demolished logically by Tom Blackaller in his following analysis. It was just hysterical to listen to. Never thought Jobson was the sharpest knife in the drawer.
