Ryan was the longtime drummer for The Amity Affliction. He hadn't played with them on tour since late 2016 or early 2017, and he officially left the band back in February. Sad day.

you're gonna be spending well over 1000-1500 for a mid tier kit, with higher range kits going higher, dont splurge straight away, learn the basics, buy yourelf a used banger so if you do give up you havent wasted money

My advice is not to worry about the tone of the kit when you start. A lot of people lash out for a good kit, and don't stick with drums long enough to make use of a high quality one anyway. You can have a lot of fun on one that sounds shithouse too

You can get a new good sounding kit for 800-1000€ in Europe. Or if you look second hand, you can get really good deals. Got myself a good sounding set of shells for 150€ last year. I assume it's the same wherever you are. Don't splash out on shells, make sure at least half of your budget goes towards cymbals. Bad shells can sound good if you get nice skins and tune them well, but you can't improve the sound of cymbals unfortunately.

This guy has the talent and skill, just needs more excitement. Could easily use another Monster or two, but excellent drumming! It's like listening to the original track but with a little twist. I'm not complaining here about his lack of excitement. Personally, I'd be a lot like him if I ever played on a stage. It takes a lot to come out of your shell and get into the groove of things, and playing live is very different from playing studio/being tech. You could be less mechanically (drumming) inclined but be more exciting and be better than a more experienced and technically/mechanically strong drummer but be on the less exciting side and be boring. Again, great job to both the drummer and the people who recorded this! R.I.P Warped Van Tour
