all of the people complaining about ahren's vocals, how often can a clean vocalist sound 100% the same as a studio recording, all the vocals would have been done at least 3 times over and then edited and cleaned up before the final production of the album, live shows are completely raw, its all right there right now, no mixing, no edits nothing, completely fucking raw. and thats the beauty of it. just enjoy the band! :)

I think they used drop C as well, maybe even C# for some songs, but they certainly used drop B for a lot of the songs on that album. I think Bondi St. Blues is in C.

EXACTLY my point. Nobody plays/sings there songs perfectly live. As far as i'm concerned he does a pretty damn good job. and until you have some success of your own then you can't say shit about any band. and the fact that he does do it for a living means that his throat is working all the time. he has to sing these songs almost every night. which definitly doesn't get easier

I love the offset they get between the screaming and the harmony.. however.. in this particular case.. very few points where he is in tune, I'd put it down the pre mix, as these guys tend to be really loud..

So I'm a regularly gigging musician and I don't know what I'm talking about? I was talking with 3 singers who I will say are with out a doubt better vocalists than Ahren ever will be (musicians able to read music for their vocals and pitch dead on every time) and that was just tonight (swing band rehearsal). As someone with musical knowledge I have as much or more ground to criticise as anyone else does.

every musician doesn't sound as good live as it does in a studio cause they mix the fuck out of everything and perfect it. seeing amity live in person is amazing as fuck. plus they're good cause they interact with the crowd, use the whole stage and dance around a lot.

Everyone has their off days. I personally think Ahren sounds pretty good here but playing 25 shows a month is no easy job. A plumber fixing one leaky pipe a day for 25 days is not the same thing as a singer having to belt it out for an hour a day every day. But even so, everyone has an off day. I also wouldn't expect Kobe to score 50 points every game, but if he has an off-night every now and then, I'm not gonna question his professional ability. Just take it easy on him, k?

No I don't "talk shit". I semi-often state whether I believe it was a good performance, but I don't do the whole "they suck, they're so shit" thing that most people do. And as I've said I wouldn't expect a perfect performance, but the one in question is noticeably off almost 50% of the time which in my opinion is pretty poor as a professional no matter how many times you perform a month. I mean, would you accept leaky pipes because a plumber fixes 25 houses plumbing a month?
