I've been listening to this song for years, and I've been wondering why the title is "The Gifthorse." Then I recently realized that the lyrics of this song are about a person who wants to die after a loved one who is already gone. So it's the story of a someone who doesn't want to look into the mouth of "The Gifthorse", the voice of a loved one telling "come here and let's fine peace together" from the other side. he don't want to think about the darkness hidden in its true meaning because it's so sweet and precious. TAA's songs are really beautiful, sad, and raw.

I got to know Shane through my brother. An absolute legend of a human being and a big teddy bear. It's true that he lit the room up around him. The times I got to speak with him or have a drink he'd always genuinely want to know how you are and what's the latest small talk etc. He'd always make you feel a part of that local music community. Will miss him and his solo acoustic nights at Crowbar-Bris. I feel bad for his family and friends, especially my brother.

I really love this album. I'm a big fan of Amity like they have become my favorite band. I think Chasing Ghosts is my favorite still but this is right up there. I love that they tried something different but still used part of their style that makes them amity. Old with new is what I think. I'm really impressed with this and loving it so much. I agree with D.I.E. that it is repetative and Black Cloud is the least good on the album but otherwise I really love this album.
