The Stone monster was actually the Rockbiter from The NeverEnding Story, which was shown in Wetten, dass..? because the film was produced in West Germany as well. There is a certain irony in this, because in the book by Michael Ende it's called the NeverEnding Story for a reason that wasn't mentioned in the film: It's repeating itself!

I find it interesting, though mildly annoying, that Day 103 that refer to the commenters as FBI agents is not included on the KZbin channel/playlist. That leads me to think it's more of a fun divergence and not required for the story. But this is my favorite ARG right now.

I think it's worth mentioning how the simulation started with looping a guy in a skit based around a caricature of communism, and that the guy who was trapped is a standard hypercapitalist corrupt corporate executive. I'm explaining this poorly, but there's thematic synergy there, I think.

I don't think him putting sam in the simulation makes him the bad guy. Revenge isn't an evil goal. Also the fact that people can coexist in the simulation does point to a hivemind, or at least an intermind interface with which a hivemind could be reasonably established.
