This guy doesn't kick until the final 100. Keep that arm cadence high and the kick cadence minimal.

I just got one question. If there is wave resistance and its better to be right below the surface of the water. Why don't we see other pros doing this technique? Like david popovici? He propels himself above the water.

Many pros use this technique now : i analysed popovici this week ;-)

Gona be a great Olympic final, Go Wiffen. His stroke rate is phenomenal and rythmic.

I started my swim lessons in 2nd grade. Today I am 35 years old and still enjoy swimming. My average 100m freestyle time is around 1:40, 1:35 on a good day. Would like to get even faster and in-depth analyses like this really helps. It really is much appreciated! Cheers from Bulgaria!

2nd and 3rd in this race weren't that far behind...do they swim almost identically to Wiffen and that the reason Wiffen is in front is that he is a better turner than the others?
@TheFRENCHSwimCoach6 ай бұрын
On his WR in SCM? Maybe he has better turns yes but he also swims 14'34 1500 LCM !

Interesting analysis. Good work. His breathing also allows more lift force to lean onto in the front of his body. More air at the correct time to keep him/ push him up when he's commimg down after his breath. This facilitates the galop but he keeps it very liniar and efficient. Moving more energy forwards that up and down. His timing is key. It's a knife edge but he is doing it well. Marvelous to watch.
