3 жыл бұрын

In this talk, the speaker highlights the many contributions by ancient Indic scientists and thinkers over vast periods of time, and show the understated but dramatic impact of those ideas both in the ancient world, and in contemporary times. Using selected examples from technology, medicine, music, math, astronomy and grammar, the speaker traces back modern knowledge systems to their roots in Indic knowledge, and discuss the many routes for Indic knowledge transmission. The speaker concludes by tracing the decline and death of the Indic knowledge tradition, and why it is imperative for an educated, cultured Indic person to revive and reconnect with that tradition.
About Speaker: -
Dr. Raj Vedam, MSEE, PhDEE, works at the confluence of applied mathematics, engineering, algorithms, and computer science. Using tools of Archeo-Genetics, archeo- astronomy and archaeology, and evidence of knowledge transfers from ancient India, the speaker has put forward a strong thesis with verifiable facts, on the antiquity of the Indian Civilisation, and the many discoveries made my the ancients.
Dr. Raj Vedam is a co-founder of the think-tank, Indian History Awareness and Research, and resides in Houston, Texas. He can be reached at rajvedam[at]yahoo[dot]com and on Facebook at / raj.vedam.1

“I am convinced that everything has come down to us from the banks of the Ganges, - astronomy, astrology, metempsychosis, etc... It is very important to note that some 2,500 years ago at the least Pythagoras went from Samos to the Ganges to learn geometry...But he would certainly not have undertaken such a strange journey had the reputation of the Brahmins' science not been long established in Europe” - Voltaire, 18th century French philosopher

Doesn't matter if Europeans believed it or not, but we had golden period of our own in ancient times. And (just saying) India ( & South East Asia) as a whole has many rivers, so it's very obvious that each must have developed some distinct civilizations. It's just waiting to get discovered, we need to invest much energy & resources to excavate & do detailed research in the upcoming years.

@@vijnanabandhu2167 Thank you. I did some more digging and it appears that there is a long literature of writings millennia pre-Voltaire supporting the idea. And Voltaire did not even know about the vast Saraswati civilization! It is interesting that even till early 1900's, Europeans readily accepted India as a source of knowledge without any shame or embarrassment. It is likely that racial and religious politics crept into more recent discussions about this. The amount of hair splitting in some of the discussion boards is quite hilarious.

Thank you for all that you do to reinvigorate interest in Indian knowledge systems. I am a big fan. If you don't mind, 'ancient Indic roots' is one word too many and might be mildly pejorative in some minds. 'Indic roots' is sufficient as Indic implies sanaatana.

i love your work and presentations, Sir. As an American liberal feminist generally progressive, not extreme left in any ideas. I would suggest to you that in my experience of liberal American schools and cultures coming out of the 1960’s from India, we have a great sensitivity to Indian issues and the very unique and completely different historic examples of current evidence of Indian past and present truths. So as when you refer to left-liberal forces competing against the Indian narrative as it should be checked, studied with new eyes, research, and mountains of new evidence for the long standing Indian cultures from antiquity, knowledge systems, languages and writing systems that have often been denied, you are perfectly right. India has been given false narratives from many sources and now it is time for ppl such as yourself and younger Indian historians following along in your shoes with connections and diverse expertise in the archaeological and epigraphic studies needing to be done. All of this i suppose to first inform your selves and your nation of actual truths now known, and then to correct the school textbooks and college coursework. Somewhere around the world, i know there are many scholars on your side of these problems ready to assist in research along the lines up bringing the world up to date with empirical structure. The problem with India is that these revelations are comparatively young vs. Egypt, Greece and so on, and we know they still have not solved all the mysteries, often have been wrong, and have been at it for 2000 years plus...So, i merely hope to offer hope and positivity that i am certain that India will discover soon so many things it is looking for and will someday know the answers to the linguistic questions. Perhaps foreign scholars with ridiculous opposing views from any previous outsider theories can simply not involved in the research you do...connect with the honest scientists such as you all have been doing and thereby you will found an entire new group of allies from around the globe having the same questions as you do. The main thing i see India needs is a big funding, perhaps some charitable trust...and a large conference as the new narrative develops so that the scientists from around the world get together every so often, snd present their new findings.

but it took 2000 plus years to decipher the Egyptian hieroglyphs and they are still discovering many new finds there after 4000 years. Imagine how India, as has been only known to have such ancient extensive cultures...being in cities better built and larger populations and advanced culture more than 5500 years ago...before the pyramids were ever thought of, , older even than many of the astonishing finds already known everywhere...India is the last large completely undiscovered region of this great continent. India s earliest dated human civilizations are greater in many ways than any of other places, but most of it remains yet to be found. Under the flood plains, along the rivers, in the old towns, under farmland, in the coastal regions and unfortunately, some very likely underwater, as in many places. The difference is...with India the resources are so unique but have not all preserved well...such as in other areas where they had large quarries of stones to build with that remained partly surfaced as well. That is a major difference and there needs to be much integrated research done with those who have Indian artifacts no one has seen, and such as writing , trading, educating and translating, etc. Give it time but let s support India s need to work quickly before too much is lost as i mentioned above...train all the youth to attend archaeological classes to resolve the curiosity and extreme importance of finding the scripts that will decode the oldest scripts in India, likely some of the oldest languages of most of the languages commonly spoken today in the western world...all came from sources where India s Asian areas and neighbors had before the languages evolved in the west. originating from South Asia and akin to Mesopotamia and Europe and others that came after.

Indians are long on claims but zero on evidence. e.g., Ram and Krishna are claimed as avatars of Visnu without presenting any evidence for the last thousands of years. Ramayana claims varan, Hanuman, flew across Bharat without wings. Varan sena, under the leadership of Hanuman, the chief engineer, Built 79 miles long floating stone bridge, Ram Setu, 100 Kauravas were the sons of Dhritarashtra and Gandhari, statistically and biologically false and absurd.

Lots of false claims Indians did have some good knowledge, but unfortunately that knowledge didn't help the Indians themselves. Until about 100 years ago the literacy in India was less than 2%. Why was this? The Indians didn't share their knowledge with their own people. As such they transmitted their knowledge to other countries is truthful. BTW the Vedas were composed not before 1500 B.C. so this men's claim that the Vedas were composed in 3000 B.C. is false. The Egyptians hired Indians to build their pyramids 🤣🤣🤣 This person appears to claim that the Mahabharata is a historical. That this ridiculous. The internal evidence makes it clear that the Mahabharata is just a fiction. So the lecture of such a person is worthless. He is mixing falsehood with truth. This is very bad. Indians science and mathematics are so advanced, but still they cannot produce fighter jets comparable to F series jets. When Pakistan buys jets from the US, the Indians complain. I haven't found anything in the Vedas that can be called medical descriptions. The Indians are so behind the western world in every sphere, that makes them cringe. As a result they take pride in their worthless past. Recently India was placed at 107th position in Hunger index. He is making a ridiculous claim that people from the Indus valley migrated to Mitani, Babylon and Egypt. It's a bullshit claim that the West entered into dark ages after Christianity became the official religion of Rome; they couldn't treat their ailments because medicines from India was stopped 🤣🤣🤣

You are a lying christian, doing exactly as preached to you by your pastors and bible. You make FAKE, FALSE attributions to this brilliant speaker. I challenge you to put the time-stamps of where he claimed the nonsense that you write above. Else admit that you are a feeble-minded convert who is incapable of comprehending this talk, and you are a liar. Do you think your pathetic attempts will discredit him? Not a chance, Cooem-bred convert. You are pathetic. Dr Vedam's talks are logical, rational and full of evidence and facts. He is making your task at conversion much harder, isn't it? As more and more Indians see his talks and are influenced by it, they will reject your ridiculous primitive christian superstitions.
