As a kannadiga I would like to thank you. Like these many ancient books are there in Kannada literature. It's our job to protect the language. If today Kannadigas says to learn Kannada please do consider it. Kannada language has books from ancient times. In schools there were lessons from Halagannada (old Kannada). If people start learning Kannada they will understand the importance.

Dear sir, thank you for this wonderful video. I'm a Kannadiga. I knew about Sri Bhoovalaya having heard of it in a program by a scholar. But this breakdown made it some what easier for me to grasp the enormity of the style of letters and numbers. And yes Kannada is an old language of more than 2000 years of history and as you so correctly said all Bharathiya languages are great and beautiful and we as Indians should take pride in all these languages saying it is OURS instead of saying mine is better. Let's try and learn as many Indian languages as we can. Thank you.

Kannada (and telugu) has the greatest writing system among all languages. Let me give some context - I am a Taulava kannadiga (I.e a kannadiga whose mother tongue is tulu). I can speak Tulu, kannada, Tamil, Hindi and English. I understand telugu and malayalam very well. Similarly, I can write in Kannada, Hindi, English and Tulu script (And hence malayalam script - they are similar). I know how the tamil alphabets works, though I can't write or read tamil. None of the other languages have same kind of ease and sophistication as that of Kannada/Telugu alphabets. Kannada alphabets are hands down the most developed writing system out there.

It got royal support from Kadambas who were the first Kannada Kings to use Kannada as administrative language. They minted coins in Kannada. It was called as Old Kannada script When Kadambas ruled Goa, they introduced old Kannada script there and it became the first official script of Konkani language, it was called as Goykanadi script. It was further used by Chalukyas and when they ruled Telugu land as Vengi Chalukyas, they spread the same script throughout Telugu land. The same script was used for both languages till the end of Vijayanagara empire. After the fall of Vijayanagara empire, scripts started separating. Few changes happened in both scripts and finally two independent scripts emerged for Kannada and Telugu.

I had these books at home since many years and every time I looked at it, it intrigued me and didn't know how to read it or what to make out of it. Thank you so much for the detailed video. I immediately pulled out the books and watched your documentary again to get some insight into it. I am feeling so blessed to have such a prized possession.

Really great work sir... 👍 As a kannadiga i am so unfortunate that our school gave priority to english than our beautiful language...additionally Kannada is a language thats 100 % accurate in script... That is what you read is fully heard and what you hear can be written and understood in exact same manner

This is just mind blowing information; thanks for this research and its presentation here. All this shows that modern education is absolutely in its very primitive stages; the systems of Aryabhata and the Kumudendu Muni is just brilliance of Bharata 🙏🏼

Amazing work.! You have explained it beautifully about Siri Bhu Vallabha. There are many other classics like this which have never been touched upon in Kannada Language. Even there was a Kannada word found in Egypt which termed ‘Isila’ back in 200 BCE.

Amazing, informative and an eye opener for a lot of Kannadigas and non Kannadiags. Kannada has the best of both Sanskrit and Tamil in terms of literature, Grammar, Chandassu, and writing system (we have swaras ಎ and ಒ which is not present or not used in Sanskrit). Kannada has this special chandassu structures called Vruttas, they are called as Khyata Karnatakas. You should see how amazingly its structure, syllabals, and grouping of ganas is done. When you talked about the combination of Arts and Science you are spot on! that Kannada Grammar and Chandassu for you. The chandassu section reminded me my high school days, as a first language Kannada student I was so pumped to learn the Kandapadya, Shatpadi, Vrutta, and Tripadis. Thanks for making this video again

Thank you so much for your wonderful research on Kannada language. I am sure most of us didn’t know about history of our great language. In fact Jainism was the religion of Karnataka once upon a time and even today you can see Halekannada scripts carved on stones in Malenadu.

Being a Kannadiga, I feel these characteristics are shared by all Indian languages that have roots in Sanskrit which have classification of letters in the form of swaras, vargeeya vyanjana, avargeeya vanjana, etc.
