No. Robert Wise came from editor position. He was the editor of "Citizen Kane" and "The Magnificent Ambersons" (both from Orson Welles). Then, Wise directed films like "The Body Snatcher (1945), "The day the Earth stood still", "West Side Story", "The Sound of Music" and "The Sand Peebles". Had quite a resumé.

Andromeda strain The original author and the movie company are planned thieves and criminals. 👎️☹️ The real original work was published in 1964 by Japanese sci-fi writer Sakyo Komatsu. Japanese title:【復活の日 (Resurrection Day)】 English title:【 Virus: The Day of Resurrection 】. A year later, in 1965, a film adaptation and collaboration project was planned in Japan, translated into English and handed over to 20th Century Fox. After that, Michael Crichton, the original author of this movie, who was frequenting Fox at the time, published "The Andromeda Strain" with a similar theme four years later in 1969. Then the movie Andromeda strain was made, surprising the real author Sakyo Komatsu. So the original author and the movie company of Andromeda strain are planned thieves and criminals.
