UPDATE! So first of all, thank you so much for watching. But second of all, I did have an entry to change, it's the Kapp'n Open Relationship entry. I contacted the person who created the iceberg and they told me: "With respect, I would like to correct you on your entry regarding Kapp'n and Leilani having an open relationship. I put the entry on the bottom of the iceberg because Leilani wears a red flower on the right of her hair which in some cultures means you are "available"". Which is something I didn't catch AT ALL so I thought it was worth a comment. And just for the sake the creator of the iceberg gave me a Seal of Approval saying: "Other than that the video was pitch perfect 👍🏻 really well done" thank you all so much for the positive feedback, I'm truly fulfilled making this content.

I’m surprised that you never mentioned the dead mom urban legend that was going around in the early 2000’s. The story went that a young boy had a GameCube and played Animal Crossing. He got bored of it and when his mom got sick, he gave the game to her so that she could play Animal Crossing while bedridden. The mom played the game everyday and after months, she passed away. Years after her passing, the boy found the old Animal Crossing game and booted it up. Upon playing, all of the villagers asked about his mom and why she hadn’t been around for so long. The boy then checked his mailbox and it turned out that everyday when she had been playing, she sent him a letter telling him how much she loved him and enclosed a little present.
@WassupNate2 жыл бұрын

Wasn't that an inside joke? The player character has a "Mom" in all the games who keeps sending letters and gifts to the mailbox. I mean, the joke would be that a casual player might not check their mailbox often, and thus not realize that the letters were written by Nintendo.

"the original mayor" means that in new leaf, you are accidentally elected mayor instead of the person who was really supposed to be in charge! we don't know who the original mayor was - some theorise that it was rover

At 17:22 , A memory was sparked in me from playing animal crossing when i was younger. I remember getting a game from a villager and playing that game. Then, when i was done playing it, I exited the game and it disappeared from my home, with some text something along the lines of “What happened? It was like I was in a dream…” From what I know this was either from City Folk, Wild world, or new leaf. Anyone else remember this?

I heard that in Japanese folklore gyroids originated from statues people would make for the dead... with their ashes... so gyroids are effigies? Also coco the villager? Terrifying. Also I think one of my lazy villagers mentioned something about a sea monster burping the present balloons lmao

I'll be the outlier and say that I love scary stuff and was sad this video didn't dive deeper into how conceptually creepy AC actually is. It's a fascinating juxtaposition to how the game is presented. Still a good video that I enjoyed watching though.

I never realized how that could be a bit scary given that it effectively locks you into a conversation. Especially with people where English isn't their first language. Interesting!

I think the phone cases entry is about how NPCs that aren't villagers have their own special phone case designs. like how gulliver has the stripes with an anchor. the only way you can see them is through harv's photo cabin

In the Animal Forest police station, the wanted criminal on the right may very well be referencing JoJo's Bizarre Adventure's Jolyne Cujoh, due to the clear parallels in appearance and Stone Ocean being the current running part at the time the game was released. Maybe whoever drew that texture was hinting at Jolyne's stated goal of escaping the prison, which is why she would be on the run from the law.

As someone who has played almost every version of the American Animal Crossing games (except City folk) I just want to give a tiny correction on the bell tree bit. In the Original Game Cube AC you could bury 30k to grow a 90k tree, but in New Horizons, you are soft capped at 10k, because there is only a fraction of a percent chance that burying any more would get you that exact back. So if you bury 30k the bell tree will grow a 30k tree (three 10k bags) Also it's been quite a while since I played the original AC, so I can't 100% remember if you needed the gold shovel to grow bell trees, but in New Horizons, you do *NOT* need a gold shovel.

Oh yeah, go off! Thanks for clarifying that detail 🙂

When I was a kid, I got a used copy of Wild World. This version had a lot of issues, and most likely was corrupted. This is because occasionally whenever I’d play, it would completely freeze and the only way to stop it was to turn off the ds. (Which as a little kid scared me a little bit the first couple times it happened) I stopped playing since it happened often enough I’d be stuck in an endless Resetti rant and I couldn’t escape it. One time the game froze in the middle of Resetti yelling at me lol. I remember being frustrated that he never gave me an option that said the game froze.

I wonder if it was due to Action Replay codes, I remember hearing on the forum I used to browse (Animal Crossing Community) that if someone had items called "seeds" they would drop multiples of things like the player's house, nooks shop and other buildings. quickly leave so the file would forcibly save and when you'd try to reboot the game, it would confuse the game as to where to spawn you when first leave your house and the amount of buildings would cause the game to struggle loading. Something like that... I haven't thought about that in forever!
@NightmareEclipse2 жыл бұрын
@@WassupNate That’s really interesting, and I never really thought of the possibility of it being hacked before. I just figured that since I didn’t see anything physically wrong with the town (at least not notably) that I just had a messed up cartridge. Thank you! I might try booting up my copy and checking out my town to see if I notice anything different about it that shouldn’t be there.
@m000nlight2 жыл бұрын
Same thing happened to me few times!! And it would usually happen if I open GBA slot, or accidentally shake the device while playing. I think it was just due to my DS being old lol.

The section referring to Isabelle being based off a bell bag is slightly different. When the Nintendo team for Europe needed a uk name for Isabelle, they realised her head shape looked close to a bell bag, so she became Is - a - belle. You should watch Thomas Game Docs video on the history of Isabelle, it's really good!

I think "the original mayor" could also refer to a character in New Leaf. In the game, you arrive at the town and are mistaken for the Town's new mayor. The person who was supposed to be the mayor is never seen
@Ideabot_692 жыл бұрын
I always interpreted it as Rover was supposed to be the new mayor, but decided that he didn't want to give up his life of traveling and let the player have the job instead when he learns of our destination. The new mayor was 100% supposed to be on that train and Rover was the only other person on the train, besides the monkey driving it (who I believe to be Champ, a villager from Wild World and City Folk who looks almost identical to Porter and has a few references to trains.)

btw, abit of a sidetrack, but at the same time, somewhat on-topic, about beetle fighting being a thing in Japan. Beetles being used for pitting them against other beetles, was actually the inspiration for the creation of the Pokemon franchise, or so I hear. And then, in the very next generation after the first of Pokemon's, a beetle Pokemon was added to the franchise, perhaps as a nod towards what inspired the creation of the Pokemon franchise
