Okay that is just...downright bone chilling. But now a whoooooole lot of things make sense. This is even more reason to support Indie animation, as well as go harder on unions in the industry as a whole.
@hydrashade18517 ай бұрын
further proof that the future of animation is indie. ideas and such arent needlessly restricted, theres real respect for the people working on it, and stuff like kickstarters and ad revenue can be split fairly.

Yup, so true. Indie Filmmaking, Animation and Game Developing are the future of entertainment. We don't need big corporations or Hollywood companies to keep us alive. We have the technology, resources and equipment we need to make our own shows, movies or projects of our own. If you wanna have your movie to be in theaters; go to an distribution company that relies on Indie movies like Indie Rights or simply just uploaded to KZbin for free. If you need some money for the budget; start crowfunding. PS, Public Domain rules and Copyright Law sucks

Dude, WTF? How can you create a show and not even be allowed to reap any benefit from it? Don't those execs know that without the creators, the show wouldn't even be a thing?!
@hydrashade18517 ай бұрын
dont forget the fact that the creator likely spent years working on the project before it was greenlit, and still aren't getting benefits from it being made into a reality.

Its really perfect explanation on why we have indie shows that exist. The Amazing Digital Circus, Helluva Boss, Murder Drones, Lackadaisy, Etc. Those shows have creators that have free will to do what they can do with those shows

It's a huge shame that getting into animation is so rough.

It’s like this in Hollywood and the animation media game too. As an animator, I can’t see any benefit from working here when I can work for myself!

Why has nobody tried copyrighting and trademarking their show before they pitch it? They can sue multi-billion dollar companies for trademark/copyright infringement!
@thatmoviegirl38146 ай бұрын
Most show creators do copyright their show before pitching it. When a show or movie is picked up, more often than not it is because the creator has sold the copyright to these companies. This gives the company control over the ip if the creator leaves or to ensure the ip stays within the company’s brand but they’ll still typically allow the creators to steer the creative decisions. Some companies give more freedoms to creators than others. Disney is notoriously controlling and nitpicky over what can be depicted whereas other studios like A24 are a lot less restricting. The reason why creators sell the copyrights in the first place is because the companies will fund production of the show as well as take care of distribution and insurance

@j.e.s.m.46864 ай бұрын
@@thatmoviegirl3814Yup. This is wanna of the reasons why I hate Copyright Law and Public Domain is better. Public Domain, to me, is very important 'cause it allows/gives content creators, filmmakers, animators, game developers and artists the liberties on creating something that they are passionate about, making something new with their own set of vision and show how much they actually do care and love the IP we grow up with. Without it, we wouldn't have gotten the stuff people would see like God of War, Monkie Kid or Epic The Musical. Yes, I also that PD has its own flaws too, they're some greedy pigs out there who might take advantage of this by creating a cashgrab project for the sake of gaining money and try to capililize shit for profit, which disgusts and frustates me but this is how people are sometimes. But I know that NOT everyone are like that; I know there are other content creators out there who want to create a project that they have dreamed and show how much they actually do care and love the IP we grow up with endless possibilities and opportunities that indie filmmakers/animators can explore. But because of this shitty copyright law we have now, is become broken thanks to Disney and is now preventing creative people making something they wanted to do, fan games exists for a reason and Nintendo doesn't care on how they're actions are hurting their own fans and name. Wanna of the reasons why I believe public domain, indie filmmaking, indie animation and indie game developing are the future of entertainment.

This I've known ever since watching a Pan Pizza video talking a bit about it a few years ago. Heck, I've know this for 10 years now.🤔 It made me apprehensive about joining the industry.
@callibor31197 ай бұрын
Well the good side of that is the animator is the most trusting when they are the voice of one or many characters and it can also be applied to their role in business, too. If each animator was a voice as much as they are animators, then they can be trusted in roles as high as CEOs than those that have just interviews, like a certain Disney CEO of today.

The silver lining is that creators usaly get more involved & creative when under preasure but at that point just make it indie instead.
