So just a tip from a woodworker. I know it's tempting, but never put a clamp between braces. Alway put the camp with solid material in between. So on the ends or where the brace/baffles are. Clamping between them can make the material to bend and make the edges push out.

donepearce hi Don, John G ( LTD02 ) and co-owner at GSG AUDIO, is the original designer of all of the Marty sub line models, as well as hundreds of other designs popular in the diy community. Also, Dayton recommends between 8-12 cubic feet, which is what the mini and full model cabinets provide.

I went with the same driver that you used, UM18-22 and I’ve decided to go with the Crown XLS series pro amps. I’m going to run two amps bridged to 4ohms. (Took a while to find the placement that removed any nulls) I have it powered with an Inuke3KDSP and it gives it more power than my ears really need, and then some. Although I want to upgrade to a stronger amp in the future as the Impedance does go up to around 24ish Ohms at 28Hz, so I need a beefier AMP to push more power at that impedance. I might be inclined to finish the face and visible sides with Formica type plastic laminate (I like wood grain.) It wouldn't take significantly longer if you have the right tools.

Man that thing looked terrible… a little bondo on edges and sanding before paint would have gone a looong way. Duratex js expensive and ugly for something going in your home… that is for roadies. Hopefully these are going behind an at screen to never be seen.
